The American Idol kids are on the cover. This, unlike the last one, is actually worth buying the magazine over. There are two pages covered with pictures of her and discussing her recent transformation into someone who wears designer clothing from the former jeans and T-shirt look. WHY JEWEL'S GONE GLAM She's traded in her cowboy boots for stilettos! Jewel's revealed a brand new facet: capital 'G' Glam. With a relationship behind her (she recently split with rodeo champ Ty Murray) and the June release of "0304" ahead, the 29-year-old singer has discovered her inner diva. Swapping her trademark denim for for designer outfits in her recent public appearances, Jewel has been no less than dazzling. While she's not exactly a stranger to fashion--she's worked with top stylist Jessica Paster and Tommy Hilfiger has dressed her on tour--Jewel has always characterized her look as "comfortable but sexy. I don't like to try hard and I've never made an effort to be particularly hip. I wear jeans and T-shirts a lot... And I'll always have my leather pants. They're comfortable, durable and always make your butt look good." But changes are afoot for the Alaskan-bred songwriter, rewriting her musical style from folk-rock coffee shop sound to the more polished dance beats. "I want this collection of songs to make everyone want to move and dance and let themselves be hypnotized, forgetting all their troubles." She's having fun with her wardrobe as well. And after years of subliminating her sex appeal in favor of serious songwriting, Jewel--who once laughed she'd never have a body-revealing onscreen moment frolics (for irony) in a bikini in her debut video "Intuition." I don't know how this happened, but now I am finding out a new Jewel album is on the way, Jewel has split with Ty and that she has a whole new look and attitude. Predictably though, she is not coming to montreal soon. What's new on the list? I've noticed Fabio still is "active"! What about this new look and music of Jewel?
