At pop she went from #33 to #29 with a gain of about +400. Her gains were falling pretty rapidly over the past week and a half, and got as low as just above +300, but have started rising again and appear to have levelled at the +400 mark. Lessening gains in the second and third week are pretty normal, and I think programmers are holding off on increasing her rotations because she's an unproven force at modern pop radio... it's been 4 years since her last major pop hit (Hands). Hopefully with the video, plus TRL and the Today Show next week, she'll start to gain at a more rapid rate a long the lines of what she was doing initially. It must be said that this song is Jewel's fastest rising single in a LONG time... it's only her 3rd week on the chart and she's already in the Top 30. Standing Still took closer to 3 months to reach the top 30. Jewel's singles typically have a fairly slow rise, and I'm still predicting a peak at least in the Top 15 (she's still got a shot at the Top 10 though)... but it might be a while before she gets there. At Hot AC things are looking good as Jewel rose from #19 to #17 with spin gains of around +320. She's taken over the position (from Train) as the greatest gainer at that format. Look for a debut on the Hot 100 this week! Hey Yall- The Southlake concert was good..I wish it would have been a little longer, and Jewel would have done a few more acoustic songs, although the audience probably would not have shut up for it!! All in all it was nice to hear some of the new songs live in their entirety, the song clips done do them much justice. I liked the new material a lot more than I expected to.. Don't get me wrong Jewel could sing along to the novel "War and Peace" and I would listen and love it..I was just worried more about the lyrics since that is the other BIG reason I listen to Jewel, but I think this record is really going to be great in a totally new and different way than her other albums.... OK to actually get to my point here...I recorded the concert and it turned out OK except the venue had way to much bass and not enough vocals soooo if anyone would like to either tell me how I can maybe tweak that or would like to try to tackle that themselves, Please let me know..(James I think you did that last time for me, how is that going??) I am transferring it from minidisc to a CD right now and could use all the help I could get!!!
