I was just thinking, out of the clips I heard, which songs I think would work as a 2nd single. I guess it'll depend on how Intuition does. If Intuition doesn't do well (it's already slowing down a LOT at radio by the way... so REQUEST!!)... then they'll probably pull a Christina Aguilera and release one of the ballads, or more "typical" songs... and try and get a hit there. If Intuition DOES do well, they'll probably try and release one of the more "different-sounding" tracks. I think Leave the Lights On sounds like a good single - depends on the chorus, obviously.... but it's catchy and has a good vibe. And I had this weird idea for the video. I dunno... you guys are probably gonna hate this... but I saw a picture of Jewel back in her early days where she had fully brown hair (like not dark blonde.. BROWN)... and I think it'd be really cool if Jewel dyed her hair brown for a video... like dark reddish-brown (kinda like Madonna now)... She's doing the whole "reinvention" thing now... she should come up with a totally new look for the next video. I think it'd be awesome. Steve. PS - don't get freaked out about intuition on the radio. It's still gaining at an OK level... and my theory is that programmers rushed in and put it into mid-rotation right away, but now are waiting before they bump up the rotation even more, cause Jewel is no longer a huge presence at radio... so they're being cautious. But as soon as the video and more promo hit, they'll increase the rotations. Jewel has always had a long ride up the charts. All her songs take a long time to reach their peak position... so I doubt this will be a case of "huge beginning, then it fades fast"... I think it's a case of "huge beginning" and then "huge second wind". But definitely call your local pop station and request the song. I am very excited to hear Jewel's new sound. I think that the new style will take a little getting used to but I always feel that way when Jewel puts out a new album. So my first impression of two of the songs was that one sounded kind of like "Ray of Light" at the begining, and another sounded like No Doubt at the begining. That was only in the first second of the songs, after that they sounded nothing like it. I'm sure that I will enjoy this new album just like I have all of Jewel's music! I knew I wouldn't be able to handle myself... But anyway, I really like what I hear: 1) Stand - this seems like a winner. Probably the best clip. I love the hip hop feel, the lyrics are awesome and Jewel's singing is perfect. 2) Run 2 U - hmmm... my least favorite, although this is a good dance track. 4) Leave The Lights On - this is amazing. Jewel's voice sounds perfect and the whole production is super cool. 5) 2 Find U - I like this ballad. Reminds me of Break Me for some reason. 6) Fragile Heart - yeah, ok. I'm not too fond of the love songs, probably the whole song will be a lot better. 7) Doin' Fine - not too fond of it either. Seems like a filler... 8) 2 Become 1 - see track 5. 9) Haunted - wow, this sounds cool, huh? I love it. 10) Sweet Temptaion - I love the retro songs, this sounds good. 11) Yes U Can - again, sounds great. 12) U&Me=Love - what a surprise huh? this is definitly one of my favorites. I loooove it. 13) America - the clip is kinda boring but probably the song will be great. 14) Becoming - my favorite ballad. I love the lyrics, it seems very introspective. Great final track. So, this is it! I was hoping for more mature love songs, they seem too girlie for me. But the social ones are fantastic! I can't wait to hear the whole CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
