That girl Alisia always attacks me, and i don4t know why i deserve it. Okay i am persistent in some opinions, but i fully am confident in what i say and what i represent. I am here to deal for the good sake of Jewel. The american artist that i already admire for a number of years. So why being so personal, when there are more crooks to attack! I am a honest human guy and i am passionated and always enthusiastic about jewel, and just because i love to see her peform and just because i love to see a dvd i got slapped in my face?? I don4t deserve that!! I always supported Jewel, Steve Poltz and also i did enjoy Jason Mraz. I don4t deserve this kind of acquisations, i am a better man than that!! Things can only get better!!!! I am a fan of jewel, i do look forward to her new record. I am a fan, i support her, i talk about jewel, i have a face, i have my emotions, and i have my love for jewel. That all makes me who i am today, a nice chap who appreciates jewel the sweet american artists for what she achieved and for what she will share with her fans in the near future! So goddamn no more attacks to me personally or i will be turning into an even more dedicated fan. You don4t play Foolish games with me, thanks Michiel the dutch Jewelfan , never compromises yourself to anything other than to freedom of speech! ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 04 Mar 2003 18:31:13 -0330 From: "Mark Austin" Subject: [EDA] we are everyday angels The mood around the list is getting shaky again. Are we forgetting what this fanlist is even called? Or why we're here? To treat each other well and discuss Jewel. No one is forced to read an e-mail, and no one is forced to fight back and forth over an e-mail. I must admit that Micheal has shown nothing but support and love and dedication for Jewel since I've been on the list. I know I got annoyed as well once in the past, but that is a huge mistake I made and I still feel sorry for it. We don't need to take sides with each other and call each other whiners for voicing an opinion. No one is forcing us to read the e-mails we don't want to read, and if youre not reading them theres no real need to complain. If someone does complain about one person, don't snap back at them in return. So yeah. Lets lead a Life Uncommon here guys, and treat each other well, and show tolerance and respect for everyone. I'm not taking sides with anyone here, I just want to remind you all that we are EDAs and here for Jewel. Unless its a really serious problem that must be brought up, show tolerance and ignore what you don't like, or at least try to look at the sunnyside of what the other person has to say. I'm not sure if I got across my message properly, I'm not good at that but I hope you all understand me. I know I did something bad in the past too, but I'm really sorry and know better now. Maybe if we are surrounded in beauty Someday we will become what we see Because anyone can start a conflict Its harder yet to disregard it I'd rather see the world from another angle We are everyday angels Be careful with me because I'd like to stay that way~ It doesn't matter how young Jewel was when she wrote it, it is one of the most profound, honest, and true pieces of music or philosophy I've heard in my life and I love her for it. Its made me a better person. Take every word of it to heart! Thats probably my last post for today, (I've made so many!). Mike, or anyone else on the list, I'd be eternally grateful if anyone could direct me to an online store where I could buy a copy of this show. I've searched the major online stores, Jewels site, and have had no luck. This isn't challenging you about the piracy thing, I totally agree. I just really want to buy this show ^_^! I just hope the fanbase doesnt go 90 or 95% teenage girls again like during the peak of POY... No offense to any of you girls on the list, I <3 you, but when youre watching a concert on tv with an audience of only girls or if Jewel is regarded as a pop idol for girls... You know... It gets pretty uncomfortable! I like how its been recently, its a lot more comfortable when the fanbase is a good mix of both genders. Im sure a lot of you guys here know what I mean! Of course I'd remain just as huge a fan if she was regarded as a "pop idol" for girls, but its just more comfortable with an even mix, hehe. Peace, The little bit peppy tonight angel, Mark P.S. It would be pretty cool if it actually was Artsy and Shit, I agree. But I would find it so annoying to read very conservative reviews put her down. I really hate when people act like that. Maybe Jewel should name her album that just to smite them! I remember reading reviews for Jewel at some parents site, how they say more than anything Jewel offers spiritual confusion than guidance, etc etc etc. Those reviews are really annoying because they emphasize on little words; I remember one uber-conservative review emphasizing that she mentioned the word "abortion" in Jesus loves you. Instead of looking into the context the word was used, or even bothering to put in a little bit of insight to why she used the word, or how it fit with the verse, they just ignored the rest of the song/verse and went on as if she was advertising and promoting abortion with all her might or something. They also went into how "Break Me" was a bad and offensive song because its about giving yourself in to a man. It was a very annoying and horrible review. Oh, they also mentioned the "shit" thing in TWROOR, hehe. The worst part is that some people who come across it read it, and get the wrong idea from a very stupid review, and then get a bad opinion on Jewel. I guess there will always be good and bad reviews, but its very annoying when people are that close minded or too lazy to actually bother look into the song or what its about. Before freaking out and condemning something, actually look into it first, instead of making yourself look dumb. Just my few cents! We're receiving a bit of mail inquiring about a supposed Jewel tour date on July 13th in Maine, that apparently is posted on various websites including VH1.com. This listing is in error and there is no Jewel concert currently scheduled for that date anywhere. No summer tour dates are confirmed at this point. As they become confirmed, we will certainly email you about them, as well as list them, along with ticket status information, on Jewel's calendar. Always check the jeweljk.com calendar if you question a tour date posted elsewhere. Also, a heads up that Jewel's mom and manager, Lenedra, will be dropping by with some interesting info for you tonight or tomorrow. Watch for it in the next JeweLink, likely to hit your mailbox in the next 24 hours. I give props to Jewel for maintaining a strong lyric-driven message; I think that most truly great artists take the higher ground and "deep and meaningful" route... a couple of issues back in Rolling Stone (the one with the Simpsons on it) I read an interview with Matt G, creator of the Simpson's, who pointed out that his show's real accomplishment is that it is broadcast to the masses but still contains political (or more cultural) messages - it's NOT topical and worthless, even though it is basically broadcast as though it is. I for one would rather see a Jewel with a message than a Jewel with a hit. I've got the seller talked down from the original prices, but the prints are still a bit expensive. If there's anyone on the list that's interested in these pictures, let me know ASAP...
