CHRISTA I think what she meant was that just because he opened for Jewel, people feel they can talk about him on the list all the time without putting NJC in the subject. And people mention him all the time in their posts even though he is not Jewel. Yet when people mention artists like Avril, people get mad and tell them to talk about her on an Avril list and not on here. She's saying it's not fair that Jason gets special treatment just because he has opened for Jewel. What she was saying has nothing to do with why people like him so I think you misinterpreted it. I love Jason but I agree with what she was saying. He played at EDA living room concerts years ago and a HGH and EDA Foundation show that Lenedra spoke at and is in Jewels Soul City Cafe program. I don't think I should have to justify myself for posting off-topic, but I'm going to this time because your ideas are very wrong. Jason Mraz has been discussed on this list years before he toured with Jewel. He has been involved in a number of EDA events and Living Room concerts. He's part of the same San Diego music scene that Jewel came from. As well as that he did recently support Jewel and - as a lot of the people who saw him there were impressed with him - it's exciting to see that he's touring Europe. I was sharing this information with the list because, as fans of good music, I thought other UK Jewel fans would want to know. So Jewel and Mraz are actually more linked than, say, Jewel and Avril or Rob Thomas. And Jason's been very much a part of this list for years. Here goes: I was at my friends, and he has 1000s of mp3s on his computer, literally. He was flicking through all of them, saying he had a song on random that he heard, but didn't know what it was called. (He never dled all the songs, but got them off a bunch of CD-Rs from someone). It was pretty annoying, but he had to leave the room for a minute so I got there and picked out a song I wanted to listen to. What song did I put on? "The Hurricane" by Bob Dylan. I'm sitting back, enjoying the awesomeness that is Dylan (Jewel has good taste ;p) and he comes back into the room, and is like, "Heyyy! Thats the song!!" So there we go, he heard a song, loved it, but couldn't remember it. And out of the thousands of songs he has, the very first song I played was the one he was looking for. I just thought that was funny! Sorry if I'm filling your inboxes with something useless, but suffer the consequences of being on a mailing list! muahaha! I'll be more careful from now on! Now here we go: I agree with you on that one. I think people should still say NJC when its not Jewel, even though he has a lot of connections to her. The same thing would go for Steve Poltz. But I do think its good that a lot of Jewel fans love him (a lot dont though!) and give everyone else info, but its still "netiquette" to put in NJC. Its non-Jewel content on a Jewel list. Personally though, it doesnt really bother me much to see three letters missing from a post, if its already obvious that its not jewel-related. Oh well! And yeah, Diana and everyone else is entitled to their own opinion on everyone and anything, as long as everyones opinion is respected (Not saying that she didnt use respect with her opinion on Jason, she said "no offense" didn't she?
