It was pretty short, but cool anyway. I received a JeweLink from Mike (yeah, not Mr. BB) and there he was talking about 7 songs from the album. I don't really remember anything but that 2 songs were named "A Physical Matter" and "Little Love Problems", hehe... how cheesy! Just thought I should share... Fabio ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Feb 2003 20:03:24 -0300 From: "Fabio (wnet)" Subject: [EDA] Message from Jewel My opinions: >>I have always loved R&B rhythms, from Muddy Waters stuff to modern stuff. Who is Muddy Waters?? >>I am also fascinated with electronic music, and experimenting with dance stuff like on 'Serve The Ego.' :-O ... Now I got scared!! Let's hope there'll be no Serve The Ego Remix type of thing! >>So there's fierce grooves and dance beats and futuristic keyboard and retro '80s synth sounds, with acoustic sounds and organic string instruments and hand-clapping and whistling, and then of course I strove to put thoughtful, crafted lyrics on it all. Fierce grooves?? hmm... dance beats and futuristic keyboard and retro '80s synth sounds... everything I don't like... but you never know... >>The record is as lyric-driven as my last, but it is equally rhythm-driven. I would like to know what she'll talk about... >>That's all for now. I'll report more later and tell you about the awesome players on the record. Interesting... Who is gonna play in the album? Flea, for sure, hehe... Also Babyface, probably, and Stephen Perkins just because I want. Steve Poltz will be in the final track just to say hi. hehe... what are your thoughts??? Check it out below! - --Adina GuitarAngel > > > Rock God Confession > > "It Was Porno" > > Guitar hero and Debbie Gibson fan John Mayer has strong feelings he'd like to share with you... > > You've just come offstage after a sold-out show, and you're feeling manly and virile. Which rock goddess would you most like to find backstage wearing nothing but a smile? > > There's something about Mariah Carey--she's superhot and people don't realize how much influence she's had. But I don't watch TV and think "I want to be with them." I'd rather beat off in the shower to my schoolteacher from the second grade or whatever. It's just so much more possible. > > When you were a young lad, which female singer did you have the biggest crush on? > > Debbie Gibson! Debbie Gibson's Out of the Blue is not only an LP, it's porno when you're young. Like the bra section of the JCPenny catalog. I remember the cover of Out of the Blue being fodder for some fantastic vacations. > > Who's the sexiest pop star you've ever met? > > Jewel, absolutely. I wanted to do, uh, many things when I met Jewel. > > Have you ever had a dream about a rock goddess? > > Yes: J.Lo. And you know what? I never understood the J.Lo thing. I always found her kind of homogenized. But then I had a dream about her. It wasn't a sexual dream-- it was one of those dreams where you wake up the next day and you're like [deep sigh] "I miss her." So I've had a little J.Lo crush lately. > > You go out on a date with a famous female singer. Who picks up the check? > > I do. > > Even if she's richer and more famous than you are? > > Absolutely. I pretend that I have to take a piss and then sneak the credit card into the waiters hand. ________________________________________________________________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month! Who yall voting for...i'm voting for Ruben!! I love him, lol plus im from birmingham...hehe ~michele ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Feb 2003 18:53:03 -0800 From: "Elizabeth Nguyen" Subject: Re: [EDA] Message from Jewel Haha .. .her "fierce grooves" kind of scare me too. I will definately buy the album and then it will probably grow on me, but yeah. It's a little scary. I'm imagining something like "Under the Water." Something like that - hehe, her "rap" part is funny. It's like Blondie rapping. Or, something like "God's Gift to Women" - that song was like an 80s retro weird pop song. I think it's a funny song, but I hope the album won't consist of 13 songs that sound like a mix of those two songs. =| But, on the other hand, I'm excited to see what this will be like. This will be her last album in her contract, so we'll see what will happen afterward. That's what I really want to see.
