Hi all, Thought that it was worth sharing with you all, that in sleepy old Perth Western Australia we sometimes get some big name artists to do some shows(I just wish Jewel would come back one day soon too) Anyway later next month we have what is called a moonlight wine festival which basically is an exhibition for some of our great wineries ,and you can walk around all day -well from 11am until midnight sampling wines, looking at other exhibits and listening to some great music. Some of the artists who will be appearing are: Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Wilson Pickett, Beth Orton, John Mayall, The Cruel Sea, Billy Thorpe, Dave Hole, Max Merritt, Little Charles & The Nightcats, Jason Mraz and Ani Di Franco!! What a line up-shame I can't afford to go,but the cheapest tickets are $120 !! Anyway I thought that some of the Jason Mraz fans would be glad to hear that he is getting a little bit of exposure here in Australia too. I will definately agree with this, but isn't beauty in the eye of the beholder? Poetry isn't the stale, "Shakespeare-esque" thing that it used to be. It doesn't have to have rhyme and rhythm. To me, if it (anything, really) touches you, it is good and beautiful. Whether it is Jewel, Shakespeare, Britney Spears, or Beavis and Butthead. 2 million people can't be wrong. They just may have a different opinion than you... Christy the Tattoed angel ===== "We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams." Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Dee >> Hi Dee, Yes, I'm familiar with this. It was the first time (of several) that Jewel was invited to play live on 91X. She had been in San Diego only a few months at this point and was just about to begin playing regularly at The InnerChange (in PB) and Java Joe's, which was located in Poway (not OB) at the time. She played eight songs live in the studio and chatted with host Lou Niles, scattered through approximately two-hours of this Loudspeaker Show broadcast, while he played music by various other local artists. The last three songs are more commonly circulating as they were rebroadcast several months later when more people knew who she was and happened to record it. Here's the logging info. Has anyone thought of contacting the radio station about this? Typically they record everything. If you beg enough they may give you a copy. I once was lucky enough to win a ticket to a very small (read less than 50 people) Indigo Girls concert and meet and greet thing through my local radio station. Well, it was very memorable to me, and I wanted a copy. I called and told them how much it meant to me and begged them for a copy. They said sure and sent it out to me. I got it two days later, and I love it! I can even hear myself, which is funny to me. Anyway, the point is that it's worth a shot. It should be someone in the local area though I would think.
