I, for one, really dislike dance, R&B, synthesized dance music. I really hope this is going to be good. I love Jewel because of acoustic, lyrical, deep spiritual songs. Not techno..... I'm not too excited for this new direction. Just my two cents, take it or leave it. I still say release a solo acoustic album, preferably live. That's what would do super-well. Take care, ~Rachel~ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Jan 2003 11:02:39 -0000 From: "Tom H" Subject: Re: [EDA] The new direction > I'm not too excited for this new > direction. Just my two cents, take it or leave it. The main thing that I see with this 'new direction' is that - like each of her albums before - it's a one-off, an experiment. If you don't like this album (and a lot of Jewel fans probably won't, because it looks to be so different), sit tight because the next album after that will probably be more your style. Jewel definitely seems to be making a pattern of each album being totally different to the last - and I for one am excited just to see what the next one's like, whether I like it or not. It seems that Jewel is here to stay, just making the music that moves her at any particular time. That letter put all of my faith back in Jewel as an artist. I probably would enjoy an accustic album more but i am excited either way. I am so glad to hear that Jewel is enjoying herself and not trying to worry to much about things.. at least it seems that way from how she has been drinking coconut drinks (the best, by the way...) and sitting in hot tubs... what a life! Well, I hope everbody is doing well and I am really excited about the new album and poetry book!.....
