I'd like to add this to the running tally: (me) 100 Blank Tapes, $10 to ship them back, HP 2x2x4 CD Burner, (amanda) 75 Blank Tapes, $$ for POY book, plus the finances to purchase two tickets for her to go to some of the recent NWW shows. Supposedly she was recently in an Atlanta area hospital with pneumonia, but as anyone in the health industry knows, they probably wouldnt let you stay a day in the hospital without an extremely serious case, let alone put you in IC for weeks. :-) Excuse my honesty, but I want to hunt this bitch down a nail a lawsuit to her door. She was the first person I ever attempted to "trade" with - and I got burned to the point of embarrassment. What sucks is that since there was never any written legal agreement that would be anywhere near enforcable, we probably don't have any legal recourse. All you newbies out there, dont ever do anything so stupid as sending that much blank media to anyone. I can't believe we all got burned this bad.. Subject: [EDA] Re: Bad Trader Alert I just wanted to add that I also have attempted to trade with Julianne Byrd and never received anything for the CDs I sent her. I wasn't aware so many people had been cheated by her, but I've also never heard of anyone trading successfully with her. Why she insists on doing this is a mystery, since it's obvious she has a lot of shows to trade. Has any EDA received anything in a trade with her? Someone could moderate it and compile the list, and re-distribute it to the list every month or so as a reminder. People could e-mail in their bad experiences as time goes by, and because the list would be redistrobuted every month, it would stay up to date? Save us all from major problems. Also, we could maybe make up a page or add on the bad trader list a little tag or something with the do's and donts of trading, what to look out for and the likes, etc. Just a suggestion, sorry if I explained it poorly. I myself am awaiting reply from someone for angelfood, my first angelfood experience actually. I hope it turns out well! Ciao! Before anyone does such a thing, I think it would be prudent to come up with an acceptable definition of "bad trader". Inexperienced or inpatient folk might label someone a "bad trader" after a few short weeks when they might just have been quite busy. Of course this should show the inportance of open communication between traders. If something comes up preventing you from completing the trade in a reasonable time, your number 1 responsibility is to let the people expecting item from you know. Basically, it all boils down to honesty, common courtesy and respect. Having said that, I am going to sit back now and let the presently experienced traders hash this all out. I haven't done an actual *trade* in over 6 years, so it's safe to say I'm out of the loop. All I am asking though, as list manager, is that IF this comes to be, the people in charge do their absolute best to make sure no one gets labeled a "bad trader" unfairly. Guidelines/definition should help in this matter.
