Okay, youre atheist, or just dont have a specific religion. I respect that. But is it necesary to imply that billions of people are incredibly gullible and stupid for finding something to have faith in? The least you could do is think about the billions, yes billions of people on earth who DO have religion, and not say that it is contaminating, or gullible, or anything. Its just something to have faith in and believe in to keep you going. So lets just respect each others opinions? Oh yeah, you say youll be like Jewel and feel god instead of praying. Well, I will get down on my knees, and I will pray I will get down on my knees, and I will pray I will get down on my kness, and I will pray Sound familiar? Maybe its not in a church, but its the principle. I'm just asking that you show respect for people that dont have your opinion instead of calling it "contaminating" and such. Thats all. And not to say your opinion is wrong, but when I read that poem, I dont think of it calling prayer bad, but another Jewel social commentary. Another Jewel song sums up that poem pretty much I think, which is "there are plenty of people who pray for peace but if praying were enough it would have come to be" I think it says you can pray, but you also have to get hands on to help. But you could be right. Just my view! Also in replies to other emails on this thread, I agree, it doesnt matter to me what religion Jewel is. She has every right to do a holiday album, and I'm glad she did actually include some religous carols in it to enforce the true meaning of Christmas. Anyone is entitled to do a holiday album, and its not selling out. Jewel and everyone else constantly enforces the fact that shes true to herself and not a sell out. Thats why she chose the label with Atlantic Records I believe. To stay honest and not have to change her "image" for the world. The holiday album is wonderful, made me happy, and the name suits it; because it made me feel Joy. Thanks for the album Jewel, I don't matter what you believe as long as you keep inspiring me with your spirit.
