JEWEL IS AMAZING!!!!! been listening to acoustic jewel concerts all weekend!! havent done that in awhile. not jewel, just doing jewel ALL day. ive listened to jewel everyday for the past 4 years unconciously. well im aware of it now, but for the first 3 or so i wasnt. the first 2 years i was a jewel fan i didnt even own my own copy of POY!!! funny. cus it was still my favorite album, and still is.... out of all 87 of them. ok all done. later. alisa - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Nov 2002 07:04:54 +0000 From: "now and zen girl" Subject: [EDA] Re: jewel screwing up?!?! not possible! jewel screwing up?!?!?! thats hilarious! jewel doesnt know how to screw up!!! not everyone has gone to 40 jewel concerts michiel. for the average jewel fan those stories are new and so are the songs. the entire concert is a pleasant unexpected suprise! and its still that way for me even though i say the stories along with her. and often answer those silly questions she asks like "where did i write ywmfm?" outloud. like dave keeps saying..... a jewel concert is SPECIAL! no matter how many times you have heard the songs, or the stories. just think, if you or her die tomorrow(horrible thought!!), you wont be hearing either of them ever again....... live and in person that is. bring it on, i wanna hear the mexico/drug bust story one more time!! and whats that jewel, youre gonna play ywmfm, oh great ive never heard that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we all know jewel never EVER EVER sings a song the same way twice! and each has its own feel. ill take them all a hundred times over! thanks jewel! thanks for the repitition, i love it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im a bit wacky and excited tonight... dont quite know why, but i like it. alisa - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8. Michiel, did I read it right that you said it's not as special for you to have been up on stage because too many others had done it? I don't get that man - being next to Jewel is a dream come true - and if a thousand people a day get to do it - I'd pay to be 1,001. What price can you put on feeling like you are walking on air? And, that's how it feels every time I am near her - whether next to her - arms reach from her - or seated near by. To not feel like it's special because others have been there before and after you is selfish. Keep in mind, this is not the girl in school that you slept with not knowing that she had been with everybody else first. And, if you have that pair of glasses on you may want to change them. Jewel deserves more respect than that. (unless you count EACH overnight stay at an EDA house, then it is about 3600) For the couple of EDAs that posted saying they felt left out or didn't have very many points.. Well, there is just one thing to do.... Host an EDA gathering! Jewel doesn't have to be in your town at the moment. Just find something to do, put your more fragile jewel crap on higher shevles/in the closest and invite some EDAs over! House/apartment too small? Roommates do not want jewel obsessed strangers roaming around the house? Plan an Outing, Get EDAs together and go DO something! Turn a gathering into an EVENT. There are numerous things to do that could be fun and/or worthwhile to your community that EDAs could do. Make your own EDA memories, and keep coming back to make more! Well, that would be Bearsville, 3 times, from OH to NY...so that is 750 25 points if you own an EDA t-shirt. 100 bonus points if it's an EDAF t shirt. Minus 100 points for washing your car with either... I have 2 EDA shirts and one EDAF shirt...so that is 125 300 points for getting into a motor vehicle and traveling any amount of distance with Dennis Harris. 100 bonus points for every state line that is crossed without bloodshed. We didn't cross any state lines, but I rode with Dennis to Winchells in NY two summers ago, and then he drove with us in Nashville from some park by the river to some hotel he was staying at...so that is 300 1 point for every EDA you've met face-to-face... international EDAs count double. (starts me at over 1500 points!) Oh my goodness...uhm...damn...I'd say somewhere around 300 probably. 10 points for every EDA you've tucked in bed or woke up at 4 AM. (excludes spouse or significant other) Does my best friend count? Plus one other, who will remain unnamed...so that's 20 10 points for every legible Jewel autograph you have. Legible...that's 120 100 points for having a plywood cow with Jewel's name scrawled across his nose. Well, I know Dennis is talking about the actual Woody cow, but I have a Woody pin with Jewel's autograph on it, right across the nose :~)...that's 100 50 points for every time you've been pulled over by local police or security in conjunction with a Jewel show or EDA related event. On the way to MI going 91 in a 70...on the way to Cleveland going 36 in a 25...and that's it...so that's 100 10 points for every Jewel photo you took that was actually in focus and recognizable as Jewel. About 80 pictures...about 60 in really good focus...so that's 600 50 points for every Bearsville gathering you've attended. 100 bonus points for making all six. Another 100 for making all six reunions AND being at Jewelstock. 200 for knowing what the hell "Jewelstock Night 3" was and actually attending. Three years...150 points. 50 points for admitting you could care less about reading "A Night without Armor" (c'mon, its written for and about teenage girl angst -- guys, get a grip!). I read it, but will admit it wasn't really worth the time through most of it. 1 point for kissing Steve Plotz (add 10 for doing it on the mouth, another 100 if done on Bourbon Street). Deduct ALL points if Steve didn't keep his mouth shut. MINUS 50 points if you are female. Seven kisses on the mouth, so that's 11...but minus fifty cuz I'm a girl...that's -49 LoL 30 points EACH for every EDA you've met over 30 years of age -- including Igor, Alan, Mike, Larry and myself.
