Watching that twice that was 6 minuites of my life I'll never get back. Please stick to well known directors from now on Jewel. It was a kind gesture to let that dude direct it but, WOW, that was boring, and some of those camera angles just look bad, her head is so strained it will fall off is she moves it 1 more centemeter to the left. Please god let them release Serve the Ego with a really really really cool video, directed by Francis Lawrence. Jake p.s. sorry to be so negative but that was worse than break me. Definatly her worst video yet. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Sep 2002 01:47:53 EDT From: JewelBlues@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Re:THIS WAY VIDEO II thoguht JEWEL wanted a CONCEPT for a video--a story..something that was about something---THIS WAY that she decided to SHOOT is about NOTHING--its concept is one sentence "JEWEL in a nightgown , in a big bed, twisting & turning, & posing" END of video. The director shot this QUITE NICELY, warm tones, attractive for its limited concept--but one would think a more ambititious CONCEPT would have been picked. Well next time i weill keep my "600 words or less" (as instructed) CONCEPT to 10 words! I am!! I'll have to pay some bills late this month to get the tickets Saturday, but oh well... For someone who asked about Kleinhans... I personally have never been there, but my parents said I HAVE to go.. It's the "home" of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orch. so the acoustics are great. Heather HMN333@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Sep 2002 09:20:56 EDT From: Fredsteve@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Sweet Home Alabama I just heard Jewel's version of Sweet Home Alabama. It absolutely ROCKS! There is only ONE thing wrong with it - she cut a verse. I'm sure this was done to suit the movie or whatever.. but I wonder if there's a version of it with the missing last verse. Maybe they're gonna release it... that could be another reason for cutting a verse. But other than that it's an awesome cover. REALLY well produced. Simple, and true to the original, yet with a whole lot of really great touches - like the minor vocal effects and the really nice harmonies and stuff. I really think this is the direction Jewel should go in terms of production on her next album. Plus her vocal performance on the track is REALLY good. Maybe she could consider Linda Perry as co-producer on her next record. Anyway, I saw the video yesterday but lost the address to it, so pretty please with vodka on top could someone give me the addy again :-) You know what it kinda reminded me of? since you can't see the guy, be it ty or not, it is JUST jewel walking around and rolling in bed, where did the $50,000 go??? And the guy is passed out in bed like she just had a one night stand or something like it. I don't care if anyone is mad at my comments, but...it is just sad to see her ruin another video. Also, I live in Florida, but am traveling up to the Indiana area to catch her in Bloomington and in Louisville, any other southern eda's interested in a road trip or other eda's interested in a get-together? At least it wasn't as bad as Alanis'. The one where she was just singing in front of the mirror? At least there are different angles of Jewel. So at least there's a consensus: Jewel looks gorgeous in it! But uhh ... what I want to know is what the other guys' ideas were. I also wonder where the money went! Ehhh, but oh well. I mean, the video could get played on TV if there was enough demand. There are worse videos than that out there that have made it to TV.
