Hi y'all..it's been a while,,I'm here still thought..read every day the post, but to busy these days...almost engaged (which means living together and not enough $ to get married) :) Anyway...all florida residents can enter the contest to see Jewel in the Acura-Y100 private acoustic concert..the chances are pretty good, they're giving away a bunch! ..the grand prize it's 4 tickets to the show and a Big Baby Taylor autographed by Jewel, plus "meet and greet" first prize winners get the 4 tickets plus meet and greet, and like 80..(i don't remember the rules, pls check them out) get each 4 tickets to the concert...so..we can do this, only 1 entry per person, household or email, so get all your friends to enter, that's what I did. If I win I promise to invite 2 people from this list that can REALLY go (some sort of drawing I'll do..) and if I win the guitar I promise to make it available to Jewel fans and proceeds will go to Jewel's charity. I don't really care for autographs and I already have a Taylor...and even though I'm broke, I believe in giving back...so going to the concert for me it's enough. Please if I don;t win...invite me!! I will pay your hotel if you come from far, dinner if you come from near and whatever.,..I'll do anything for just to go...so I will let you all know if I win , that's my promise and please if any of you fla residents win...take me!! TO ENTER: Go to www.y100miami.com and go to the "contest and games " link and follow instructions...you will have to create and login and give your info in order to enter the contest....small price for the prize !! That's it...GOOD LUCK TO ALL US CRAZY FLORIDIANS!! LOVE AND GOD BLESS URI ps: if we could get an all floridian list would be cool...we could get all the fla eda's in this thing... email me.. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Sep 2002 10:34:54 -0300 From: "Fabio (wnet)" Subject: [EDA] Serve the Ego charts! I have been posting in the boards on a regular basis, and it has been amazing to meet all of you and to see the love you have for Jason Mraz. This team's main purpose is to promote Jason Mraz and inform all potential fans of Jason's amazing and unique music. We know Jason is an awesome talent and it is our mission to spread the word and have the whole world embrace him with open arms. Let it be known though, that this team will be all about the fans. I am already working with several of you to help keep this team rooted with the fans in 'keeping it real!' I want this team to be a community where we can promote Jason, have some fun, meet new people, and, of course, get some free stuff. Who doesn't love free merch -- there will be plenty of that...just make sure ya help Mraz. I will hook you up with merch and music that no one else will get...tons of perks. We have a lot of great promotions and events that we will be rolling out -- there is one particular event that a lot of you will die for -- gotta keep it hush for now, so stay tuned! If you have a particular question for me, please visit Elektra's Mraz Msg Board and post what's on your mind. I want to use our Elektra board for street team correspondence. So, if you have any thoughts, requests, anything that you want to say regarding the street team -- just visit Elektra's Mraz Msg Board. As always, I am pretty accessible and will be here for all of you 100%. Be sure to check out (RightKindOfPhrase.com) for the best Jason Mraz board on the web. Stay tuned for regular updates -- this team is going to be a lot of fun and I'm insanely excited to be working with all of you. We will have a street team web page up soon, I will keep you posted on that as well. As noted below as this week's duty, lets push hard on our first mission to get everyone out there to sign up to Jason Mraz's mailing list and Street Team: www.jasonmraz.com Check ya later -- later this week, I will send you some Jason Mraz music you may not have heard before (Street Team Exclusive), Grant (For now, post HERE if ya need me.) http://www.jasonmraz.com Let's Get Started! This week, we should strike people's interest in Mraz and the Street Team and recruit people for both lists. The best way for people to discover Jason and receive regular updates on him is to sign up for our mailing list and Street Team. There is strength in numbers, so let's go out and recruit in force. Please direct everyone to the pop-up window at www.jasonmraz.com that has the form for people to sign up! Please feel free to be very creative in how you get people to sign up, but let me give you two good examples: 1) Collect all of your friend's email addresses and create your own special Jason Mraz email list. Email your friend's and encourage them to sign up at www.jasonmraz.com. Be sure to include me in your list so I know what you are actually doing: grant.johmann@mail-mgr.com 2) Go to msg boards, chat rooms, and online clubs of the John Mayer, DMB, and Howie Day's of the world and let them know about Mraz as well. Be tasteful, because we know how annoying those posts can be. Try to strike up conversation rather than blatantly telling them to sign up. Just make sure to send everyone to www.jasonmraz.com ! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Sep 2002 19:14:28 EDT From: DPS8315@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Trades...New Wild West/This Way Anyone who's interested, I've got a few extra copies of Portland, OR (08/31/02), Chicago (07/14/02). Here is my eye-witness account, 5 days later so I can't guarantee the accuracy. It eventually spread into my section. It was not a huge melee. Here is what I speculate happened. A drunk guy who I think spilled wine on an irritated kid (25 or under) who was probably also drunk. The "kid" did not get an apology which lead to him losing control. Then basically the whole ruckus was five or eight "security" people and the sound man trying to keep the "kid" from getting at the older guy. The "kid" was kind of spunky and eventually they tackled him into my section which I learned I was sharing with Michiel. It scattered like 8 or 9 people near us. At that point they turned on some house lights and order was slowly restored. News at 11! Jewel was tuning her guitar and had her monitors on so she apparently didn't know anything was going on until the house lights came up. Then she saw the people scattering and made the comments that Billy gave earlier. She also told them to just leave because the whole disruption was really annoying her. She didn't dwell on it. She made a quick and witty reference to it and continued her show. This hasn't been mentioned yet and I thought it was kind of cool. Jewel spoke of how she has some real loyal fans who always support her and come to her concerts. No matter what her album sales are, or how a single is charting. I think we have some great debates on what the record label side of Jewel should be doing or could be doing better. But hearing her talk essentially about how she values the EDA's in not so many words I thought said a lot. Maybe she isn't as accessible as she was during the first 3 year of this list, but it doesn't mean she takes us for granted. At least that's not my impression. Has she said this at other shows? Enjoy, Jeremy - -----Original Message----- From: owner-jewel@smoe.org [mailto:owner-jewel@smoe.org]On Behalf Of William Streeter Sent: Wednesday, September 18, 2002 5:39 PM To: jewel@smoe.org Subject: Re: [EDA] Fist Fight At Jewel Show It was the 9/13 show in Saratoga. I would LOVE to have one of the New Wild West tour concerts and I do have something very interesting to give in return! It's a REALLY RARE box from Spirit. I got this at Warner Music, here in Brazil. I don't know how to describe it well, but it's lovely. It's like, you bought ANWA and you want to give it to someone and you want a beautiful box to put it in. It's that type of box. In one side there are Jewel's hands and it has "only kindness matters" all over it. So, I was hoping to get a concert containing "Does Anyone Believe In Love" and "Passing Time". And if possible, "Studies In Love" and "Boy Needs A Bike"! Ok, hope someone wants to trade with this fellow EDA!
