It's one of the premier venues for young independent high energy (mostly punk) bands. Ironically enough, it stands for Country, Blue Grass, and Blues, which is what it was initially supposed to be a showcase for decades ago when it opened. About 6 years ago they opened another club next door called CB's 1313 Gallery which books "quieter" stuff. I like his older cd, Heartbreaker, the best. It is the best cd I've bought in the past 6 months, and I have never been so thrilled with someone before (except maybe Jewel). Please pick up his cd Heartbreaker if you can, Gold is his newer one.
