I doubt anyone here is nice all the time. I'm not. I certainly wouldn't be if I constantly had 30,000 screaming teenagers around me all the time. Sure, be grateful. But still, she's human, and that stuff can get annoying sometimes. Having to dabble with celebrities she doesn't know and act all happy to see them..."OH MY GOSH! I'm so happy to be around you...Kelly! I don't know you but wow I love being here right now!"...But she could be a sweetheart too. Nobody is always one way all the time. Nobody here is constantly pissed off, constantly grinning, constantly crying, constantly throwing things. Nobody. I doubt Avril is either. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Jul 2002 05:52:06 -0400 From: "Pupecki, Stacy" Subject: [EDA] extra angelfood i have an extra set of 3 cd-r's that have misc live songs and interviews at radio stations that include her singing at the radio stations from the current this way tour. they include australia, japan and rick dees radio interviews, and also rosie o'donnell, good morning america and getmusic.com interviews. each one is between 70 and 80 minutes long. i will trade for current tour shows. write to me for complete info and what you have to trade. thanks. First is a rebroadcast of the PBS program "Life 360," that was taped last September following 9/11. Jewel is interviewed and performs "Hands" and "Break Me" solo acoustic. In many areas, PBS will be airing this tonight (Thursday) night at 10:00 p.m., but PBS stations determine their own scheduling, so check your local listings for exact times and availability in your area. On Friday night, (following David Letterman in most areas at 12:35 a.m.), CBS will rebroadcast the July 31st Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn. This includes includes a Jewel interview and an acoustic performance of "This Way" with Mark Oakley. Also for Europeans that recieve TV Cinema 1000, they will be airing Ang Lee's Civil War movie, "Ride With The Devil," starring Jewel as Sue Lee Shelly on Friday. Check local listings for transmission times. Those of you in The U.K. may enjoy tuning in to BBC Radio 2's Wednesday night program "What's Going On" next week. The September 11th program will include a Jewel interview taped earlier this year. This blurb about this program taken from the BBC website: Host Paul Gambaccini investigates what's happening in different musical genres on both sides of the Atlantic - pop, rock, R & B, country, and also takes a look at the state of the music business. By talking to musicians, record executives and musical commentators, Paul will discover the recent directions taken in each genre and look for signs of artistic decline or creative regeneration and optimism. ******************************************** Now Playing: Bob Dylan: "Blood On The Tracks" ******************************************** Jewel concert information, radio and TV broadcast scheduling updates available 24 hours a day at: http://jeweljk.com/low/calendar.html ******************************************** - --- You can help a friend subscribe by having them send a blank email to join-jewelink@list.jeweljk.com To view selected back issues of JeweLink, please visit the JeweLink Archive at the www.jeweljk.com calendar page. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Sep 2002 14:14:08 -0700 From: "Allison Crowe Band Management" Subject: [EDA] NJC - is Stacey Hamilton Derrick Karacostas? this possibility was suggested a while back, and the more opportunity there is to compare posts between the two, the similarities are remarkable; though, it must be said, Stacey's posts - while following the same format as those of Derrick - are less openly insulting to EDAs; maybe they just think a lot alike, anyway, it's an interesting sideline to certain threads here cheers, Adrian ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Sep 2002 14:34:57 -0700 (PDT) From: Minh Duong Subject: [EDA] [NJC] List Etiquette Let me start off by stating that I will NOT participate in the Great Avril Debate. That discussion is for others. I am troubled by how the members have broken some of the rules of this list and caused some tensions in the group. This is not a gripe email. This is a simple reminder of three rules that would make the list more enjoyable. 1) Personal expressions are welcome; personal attacks are not. This list was created for the use of its members to passionately discuss any subject but mostly Jewel. Sometimes these passions can lead to disagreements. In these disagreements, I would ask that the members to practice respect and courtesy towards one another. If there are harsh words to be said, please discuss it privately with the other member(s). That brings us to #2 2) Personal conversations should be kept off the list. Conversations that you intend to have with another member and not share with the group should be done via email, phone, IM, etc. This cuts down on the messages that we have to sort. 3) Any posting that have NOTHING to do with Jewel whether it be Avril, your favorite color, etc. should be labeled in the subject as "[NJC]" not "[EDA]" This is an act of courtesy to other members of the list so that they can quickly categorize the submissions and decide which messages they wish to read. These are just my opinions. If you decide to throw pies, I prefer key lime. Minh Yahoo! That said, I enjoyed my little trip to the Twilight Zone. I am of course a major KISS fan (you guys who know me on this list know all too well) and love Jewel almost as much. Over all, I thought the segment was good, if short. Gene was being his usual (lascivious bullshitter) self & I give Jewel a lot of credit for not taking him seriously. They seemed to enjoy it & played off each other well. Who knows maybe we'll see a Kilcher/Simmons song on the next Jewel or KISS record, or maybe at long last the Jewel action figure. :-) Rock & Roll all Night & write poetry all day? God help us. One bashes avril, another protects her. Which gets us nowhere. Then other people post to the list that they don't want to hear anything about avril, which only makes more posts to the list that are pointless! This is what upsets me... because hardly ANY posts on here are about JEWEL. And if its NOT Jewel, you guys assume its either about Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton, or Avril. Which is SOOOOO not true!!! Those are the only ones that actually catch peoples eye 'cause the rest are BORING!!! For example... how to pronounce Jason Mraz? I mean... how the heck cares??? (no offence to the person who sent it... but what does pronouncing his name have to do w/ Jewel?) Not to mention the whole VMAs thing. I mean.. the VMAs have NOTHING to do w/ jewel... she wasn't even there!! It shouldn't have been brought up in the 1st place. Thats how it would be. If you wanna stop the avril/michelle/vanessa posting... the other pointless posts should be eliminated as well. It just upsets me when someone complains about a topic that one can acutally have a discussion about... and the rest of the people get mad about it. And.. I'm leaving the list. It isn't as if I post a lot here anyway. All I ever get everyday is a crap filled mailbox with stuff I don't care about. Gee, sorry, I don't want to see my inbox filled with pointless posts about various things. I'm not disagreeing with you, "Jewel Worshiper". I never said that JUST the Avril posts should be eliminated. Did I? No. YOU ASSUMED IT. I am sick to DEATH of reading about things that aren't Jewel. This is a JEWEL Mailing List, in case quite a few of you havent noticed. It is hardly "bullcrap" to want the list to be on topic 75% of the time. More than 25% of the time, posts I get are about Avril Lavigne, Vanessa Carlton or Michelle Branch or John Mayer or whatever. None of these posts are interesting to me. If I wanted news on any of them, I would join their lists. I have nothing against them as musicians or anything, I actually like John Mayer a lot. I just want to read about Jewel. And since this list is BRUTALLY off topic, I am leaving. Not that half of you even care, since I've gotten more than a few posts being blatantly rude to me, when I was never rude in the first place. I almost always follow my messages with a smiley face, which means, guess what? I'm smiling. I'm happy. I'm not being a b*tch about anything. Those of you that replied to me rudely are the ones jumping to conclusions and making assumptions, not I. Good Job, run -another- decent Jewel fan off the list. I know of many EDAs who have stopped getting the list, because they can't stand the immaturity. No offense or anything. Someone, please, let me know when the list is on topic and the people aren't so rude anymore.:) Have a nice day!!:D Melissa L'angelo di Plumeria http://sirpsychosxy.diaryland.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Sep 2002 21:41:37 -0400 From: "Scott" Subject: Re: [EDA] Seeya. Yes, I think I may take a break from this list. It's as much junk mail to me lately as the unsolicited spam. Might as well be.. It's just as interesting. The various reincarnations of former list members are aggravating, and I'm tired of getting email about everything BUT Jewel. The five years were fun, but it isn't the same as it once was. Not even near. I keep coming back, and maybe I will again, but there are only so many times one can deal with such immaturity.
