I heard "This Way" on the radio yesterday. At first I didn't recognize because it was different than the album version. Is the official single release a remix? In the beginning, the most noticeable difference was the addition of some sort of string instrument. It sounds like a harp, but I'm not a musician. Also her voice was remixed to sound as if she was singing in a large room. When the chorus kicks in, the guitars sounded louder. All of these changes detract from her voice. All in all, I didn't like it. To me it sounded "overdone" like somebody was trying too hard on the mixing board. "Okay, now we need a classical element . . . I know! Harps! Harps are the answer. Well, it sounds too classical. So . . . we'll up the sound on the electric guitars. Voice, schmoice." But that's my opinion. I think that Jewel's beautiful voice should not be overshadowed like that. I really agree with you on this. I hear it on the radio all the time. I liked when I heard it online, but it sounds bad on the radio. It kinda sounds like one big jumbled mess. Some songs just don't sound as good on the radio as they do on a cd or online. Has anyone else noticed this, on any song, not just THis Way?
