I think that's great, considering I thought most people would stay away from any major events that day, especially good ones. I think she'll do a beautiful job. As far as the having fun thing, I can understand how people would be depressed, but if they don't think they're going to have fun, maybe it sounds rude, but then they just shouldn't go. 9-11, just as it did with another girl that said it here, never really effected me all too deeply. I understand that it was a horrible event, certainly something to cry over, but I didn't cry or spend days holed in my room. That never should have happened, but it's sad that it's effected us so much that our...concert-going activities might be inhibited a year later. Not sad as in pathetic, but sad as in seriously depressing that something so largely devastating could have happened. Don't wast your time downloading a song called "Firefly" either. Supposedly, someone listed it as being a song song by Tori Amos and Jewel. Trust me, it's not even close. It's not a bad song, but if you were thinking you were getting Tori Amos or Jewel you'll be very disappointed. I know for me personally, attending a Jewel show that day would be an incredible source of comfort in much the same way that her music was in the days and weeks following the attacks. I have no doubt that Jewel will treat the occasion with dignity and respect. Thanks. I arrived a little late, so i missed the Openers, dont know if M2M played also, or someother band that did the SoulCafe thing. So i missed the 1st song of Jewel, i think it was Standing Still or something. Also the Chairs were so close together.....that sucked. But i bought a digital Video camcorder thing, so i was able to get some footage (the ticket didnt say anything about it not being allowed). I will have to watch it to see what i have, i was trying to keep it low key just in case. Also there was 2 girls in front of me that kept leaning over and talking, so i am sure i have a bunch of head shots. But still should have some audio. Jewel was SuperHot! and i had to defend her, my friend says her boobs are fake, but i say there real, then people dissing on the teeth, and someone even said she had braces...anybody ever hear about that?? So she played with the Band, it was cool, but i think solo is better, more time for her to talk to us. But give me a couple weeks to learn about my camera and software and i might have some angel food to share. Ok i think that is all, but if you want me details, email me Kevin the Traveling Angel from Santa Cruz - ------------------------------------------------ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Jul 2002 15:41:56 -0600 From: "Stacey Hamilton" Subject: Re: [EDA] jewel made a good point on leno >that you have all missed the good point she made. the fact that she > >pointed out, on a big show like leno, that there is only one kind of > >music on radio right now, is just great!! - -- How do you know people missed that part of what she said? Just because comments were made about her appearance doesn't hardly mean other parts of the show were overlooked. That's a pretty major assumption on your part I think. I didn't overlook anything yet did have plenty of time to observe all of her camera stares and perfectly executed glances, turns, and positions as well. >thats the first time ive heard a major performer say that on tv. - -- And that wasn't the first time I heard someone mention that on TV, but either way, it's not true regardless. There are lots of types of music being played on the radio....just depends on what city/region/station you're talking about. There are some places where most of the stations are country music. In other areas you might hear mostly rap or hip hop, and in other areas pop or rock. Just depends on the region. I think it's quite a false statement though to say there's only one type of music being played on the radio. >it was really great of her, and then she talked about soul city cafe! >did >everyone just space out for that part of the show?? - -- Again you are assuming way too much here. Just because something isn't mentioned doesn't mean it went unnoticed. I'm sure anyone who saw the interview heard all of it. But this doesn't mean you're going to see comments made to the list only about things that happened to interest you. ~Stacey~ _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Jul 2002 15:47:39 -0600 From: "Stacey Hamilton" Subject: [EDA] new tour name I think it's quite telling that the acoustic tour is being dubbed the "New Wild West" tour. I just think it will be released a little too late, don't you think? Maybe they will release the song to pop radios near to the release of the video. I happen to think that this project would have been even more cooler if they were to direct a video for Jesus Loves You or The New Wild West. But, as I said, pretty neat what Jewel is doing. I may post more on the night laster, but for now, I have a request: Does anyone have a copy of last night's show that could send me? I do not have much Jewel angelfood, but I do have the Humphrey concert from San Diego that was on DirecTiVo on video tape (actually....its still on my DirecTiVo...so a copy would look perfect) and if I can find it (it would be hard to) I have the Canadian 1.5 hour show (with commercials) of Jewel on Much More Music.
