What song is that, does anyone know? I feel like I should know but I just can't come up with it. So if anyone knows, just drop me a line privately. Thanks,Karen ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jul 2002 21:06:31 +0000 From: "Amy Emerman" Subject: [EDA] admiring Jewel's persistence and staying power I really admire Jewel just for sticking with the music business and maintaining herself as a presence. So many pop stars are one hit wonders and Jewel seems to have tenacity. I hope she continues for a very long time. She really works hard and doesn't get discouraged, or if she does get discouraged, she gets herself right back on track. She's a winner! _________________________________________________________________ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jul 2002 17:16:56 -0400 From: LoLLingIMer@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Wheeler's Wild Horses Yeah, I don't know if that version is Jewel since I haven't heard it, but I CAN tell you that The Sundays do a beautiful version of Wild Horses on their second album "Blind." The entire album is haunting and Harriet Wheeler (lead singer for The Sundays) calls to you like a siren. Check it out! Thought I'd re-introduce myself and say hello to all my new friends - I was an active member of this list from the beginning of POY through the end of the Spirit tour, then had to unsubscribe because I graduated from college and went to work for a living and couldn't find time to read all the email! :( But now I'm about to head back to grad school, and just saw Jewel in concert and it made me want to experience this great community all over again! :) Last time I was a member, I lived in Dallas, TX; I currently live in Houston (where I saw Jewel's show and got to go backstage AND MEET HER!!!) and am about to move to Austin for school. So, drop me a line and say howdy - I can't wait to get involved with you guys again - it was always so rewarding before! :) Love, Sam I never did get an angel name before - maybe The Unnamed Angel? ;) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jul 2002 17:49:17 -0400 From: Shawn E Williams Subject: Re: [EDA] admiring Jewel's persistence and staying power I totally agree! She really does kick ass! After all the music phases she is still around and still has big hits. One thing that I think is really awesome is how when she fell off the horse, that she didn't cancel her tour. Almost every singer probably would cancel or cancel way more dates than she did. Jewel freaking rocks!!!!! love ya, shawney the hippie angel LISTEN TO JEWEL'S NEW SONG "THIS WAY" AT: http://www.jeweljk.com/low/thisway.html ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jul 2002 17:58:31 -0400 (EDT) From: Rhett Creighton Subject: Re: [EDA] REMINDER: This Way losing steam! This Way is one of Jewel's worst songs. I don't care about helping her record company make money by keeping that on the charts. I don't think anyone can save This Way, and if a lot of people actually hear it, they might hate Jewel. Maybe we should all pick some other Jewel song to request. Hi ho! After Jewel said she would play "Nicotine Love" after reading my sign in Grand Prairie my boyfriend has offered to take me to a solo show. It doesn't matter what state the show is in just as long as they are decent seats. Howdy y'all, Just sending out another post on a possible Nashbash reunion, and any EDA's (and friends) are invited. For those that would like to attend a reunion, get back to me. Any suggestions and ideas are welcome, such as what to do, where to eat, where to sleep, etc. Mike Connell suggested a campout outside of Nashville, which suits me just fine...I prefer a bonfire party compared to a motel party anyday. I just hope we can find a Waffle House ;) Anyways, I'm hoping to get more people involved in this. Though the show took place on August 5th, we can always have the gathering later. Come on people, let's show them Bearville people that we can do it just a good ;) Later y'all, Lee Garner Confederate EDA Yahoo! For an artist to continually climb that many consecutive weeks. Something that's unprecendented. Only Nelly, Eminem, and one other is in front of her now. She's at #4 and has been in the top 10 since the release. And her album already went platinum last week. yay!! _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jul 2002 23:03:31 EDT From: Cember76@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] (NJC)need tickets In a message dated 7/24/2002 4:13:39 PM Pacific Daylight Time, hppygrl4@hotmail.com writes: > After Jewel said she would play > "Nicotine Love" after reading my sign in Grand Prairie ok i too am guilty of deleting some of my angel mail before reading it but woah horsie!!! when was this said??? that is so exciting. When you search for Jewel on the Music Downloading programs... and it comes up w/ that, i thought it was mislabled and was Tori. I could be mistaken. Anyhow, i love that song so much, that i DLed it by lots of diff. artists and bands... and so far... The Sundays are the best yet. They sang that song on a Buffy Ep. The one where angel went to the prom w/ buffy. And they also played it on the movie Fear w/ Reese witherspoon and Mark Walburg. When they're on the rollercoaster and he's... well... I don't think i can say it out loud, lol. ~me http://www.angelfire.com/sk/killorgeteven/pale_shade_of_grey.html (my Jewel Page) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I mean, the way she dresses - would you walk around the street in a fuckin' bra? I'm not trying to dis anyone, but with me, the clothes I wear onstage are the clothes I would wear to school or go shopping. I'm not gonna go up onstage and dress different. Britney Spears goes up onstage and dresses like a showgirl. She's not being herself up there because she's dancing like a ho. Is she ho? She says she's a virgin. Y'know, it's just not clicking. She's doing one thing and saying another thing, y'know? It's definitely not what I'm going to do." --Avril Lavigne _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V7 #349 ***************************
