I LOVED IT!!! and why has nobody comented on love aint for lovers anymore!!!!?!?! this song is so GREAT! i heard it and just thought this could be one huge hit!! they should just go and make it the next single right now! i LOVED IT! its STILL stuck in my head! as for the whole standing thing i think it can be annoying when like everyone is sitting and only a few people are standing, it makes them look kinda lame. the crowed at this show was the best crowd ive been in yet! i was excited to see how the minnesota fans would be (cus im from california, the only place ive seen jewel in the past) and wow! they are CRAZY!!! it was so loud, people were screaming so much! me included! we were screaming so much during foolish games that she started laughing! her stories were HILARIOUS! the ywmfm mexico story was soooooooo long, she even said "this is turning into a really long story!" and then kept going hahaha. the maxim story was so great! and i didnt know about the first time she had heard herself on the radio, that was a great story. sooooooooo i think im done with my review now cus its getting really REALLY LONG!!! a few side notes... i got t-bones pic, i chased a bus down the street 2 blocks thinking it was jewel and it was not, it was M2M, cus they stopped at a store to get drinks and i saw theire bassist. and a backstage jewel guy came in to get a drink and i asked him if i could have his backstage jewel person bass that has a picture of the cover of this way on it... and it was really cool... i begged and offered him money for it, but he said he would get in trouble and fined 100 dollars if he gave it to me... but i wished him a good rest of the tour. he was a great guy. oh and i talked to chuck from jmerch... or i mean mani merch... every time he sees me my hair is a different length, i said hey chuck, its me alisa, and he said HEY! now and zen girl! and we talked.... it was great! soooooooooooooooo im finally done hahahah.... i bet like nobody read all that.... but oh well! night! alisa - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: Click Here ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Jul 2002 05:41:13 +0000 From: "now and zen girl" Subject: [EDA] jewel concert thing in rolling stone mag. just something i saw in the rolling stone mag. with eminem on the cover. there is a summer tour thing that said how much the tickets cost and how many shows they are doing and things like that. and out of like 10 or so performers jewels shows costed like the 3rd highest amount ranging from ?- $250!! the people who were higher than her were like really huge acts like the who! so i was increadible impressed. but then i saw that she was doing almost TWICE as many dates as everyone esle with 55 dates!!!! she is INSANE!! hahah go jewel!!!! kkk later! just wanted to share that alisa - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: Click Here ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Jul 2002 02:45:18 EDT From: SullMa84@aol.com Subject: [EDA] NJC: What is this song??? Subject: [EDA] Chicago Show Requests While I never officially stated I had started trading the Chicago show, the requests have been pouring in. I have already sent out a few copies and I'm waiting for some feedback before I send out any more. But if you were thinking about requesting it and have something to trade, go ahead and send me your angelfood list. Be aware, though, that I'll be out of town all next week and unable to respond during that time. And to all of you who have contacted me with nothing to trade, I'll try to work out some blanks and postage trades in the coming weeks. Thanks. I don't know who will remember me, I still post occasionally, and I've been on the list since 6/96...but anyway :) Went to the show at Red Rocks last night...Jewel was incredible! No really surprises in the setlist..she asked for requests during the acoustic setand I yelled out for Boy Needs a Bike but I don't think she heard me cause she said, "OK, then I'll play what I wanna hear" and started in with Does Anyone Believe in Love. Usual, Morning Song, Little Sister, Cold Song, and YWMFM followed. I really love the two new songs, Love Ain't For Lovers Anymore and My One True Friend...and I had never heard Does Anyone Believe..before so that was great. Her voice was in top form, and it occured to me during "Life Uncommon" that she's probably been listening to a lot of Janis Joplin because alot of the vocal gymnastics she did were quite reminescent of Janis. IMO, anyway. So..on to my request. Like I said, I've been on the list since 1996 (when I was 13, I'm turning 20 in 2 weeks) but, going through my angelfood the other day, I realized I don't have anything more recent than The Tiny Lights Tour (4/97)...so...I was hoping someone would help me out? I don't have much that nobody else does, but what I do have I would be willing to trade. Email me at GroupieGrrl6969@aol.com if you'd be willing to help an old, graying angel out ;) Have a great day everyone! Does anyone know why M2M was dropped from the tour? I've been reading some things and I'm starting to think they may have been dropped by Atlantic. It just seems really weird for a band to no longer be opening after most of the tour is already completed. When they were scheduled for the entire tour to begin with, and their official site even still lists all the dates. I'm sure there will be alot of rumors going around, but it sounds to me like maybe Atlantic dropped them. Maybe they weren't making enough millions of dollars for the greedy bastards. It's too bad they don't drop Jewel...it would be the best thing that's happened to her in years. Then you don't have to worry about it! Then YOU can stand and piss off everyone behind you!! hahaha But other than that, who really cares. I mean if the ones in front of you stand then if you really want to see what's going on on stage, you'll stand too. If not just listen. Afterall isn't it the MUSIC we like? You can still hear no matter what so that's all that should really matter. I saw Jewel in Aug '99 in West Palm Beach (the last show of her Spirit tour. I was 4th row and when she called us to 'come closer' i had my spirit cd, ANWA and a black sharpie handy. I'd like to TRADE the cd for NEW angelfood (This Way tour only)- She signed it kinda sloppy on the inside cover, on the gold part. I can't give up the book cause she drew a little picture in it and read 3 poems from it at the end of the show. I will also include 4x6 original prints of her i took that night AND whatever angelfood you may like from my list (link below). Anyway you can see how desperate I am for this way recordings- I guess whoever answers first w/this way shows i will trade the cd...thanks guys!! ;-) Julianne the envious angel Yahoo! But when I saw her in West Palm (3rd row) in '00 I wanted to stand and dance (the only one standing, i had a buzz lol!) and i asked the poeple behind me if it would be ok, and they were nice and said yes- so i think it really just depends. i DID pay a lot for my tickets, but you have to be respectful to the people around you- maybe sacrifice a little of your own 'good time' so someone else can enjoy the show a little more, anyone agree?
