I was watching Music in High Places on MTV and India Arie was on. She was amazing. But for anyone who doesn't know, the show is about sharing your music with different cultures and them sharing their music with you. It is really interesting but the show isn't on that often. Anyway, I was thinking that it would be nice if Jewel was on it. She could go somewhere where HGH or Clearwater is helping people, some good publicity, but I think it would be neat to show everyone what she's been doing with the organizations and also playing her music. I know she's really busy right now touring though. Just a thought. Well, they'll have been holding hands with other guys (or girls). The guys will have been wearing Cher t-shirts and glitter on their faces. They would also probably have been wearing loafers and some fetching cargo pants. The girls will have been wearing Birkenstock sandals and of course dungarees. Maybe with a Melissa Etherige or Indigo Girls shirt underneath. He, he. Good thing I am pregnant right now or people would think I am gay then right? Of course I could care less if people think I am. IG is my all-time favorite band. More often then not I can be found in birks, jeans and an IG shirt. This is all in light people. I know you were kidding Tom so no offense taken or meant towards you. Okay, I've been holding back for quite a while now. Let's just drop the gay subject. It's stupid to be making such a big deal out of it. For those of us who know that there's nothing wrong with being gay, we don't want to hear all this bickering. And to those who do think there's something wrong with it, well, we don't have much to say to them anyway (we can't say much without starting more arguments and everything just gets repeated and we go in circles). So let's just STOP! Enough! =) --Lindsay - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kovacs, Mirinda" To: "'Tom Hall'" ; Sent: Monday, July 01, 2002 2:43 PM Subject: RE: [EDA] How do you 'spot' a gay person? > Well, they'll have been holding hands with other guys (or girls). I have been a fan for six years. Anyways I went to the Atlanta concert and it was awsome. I wasn't going to post about it because so many people posted reviews. Well, I managed to get backstage to see her sound chek, and meet her. That was cool. Anyways my whole reason for posting this was I'm on the Jewel website. That's me right beside her, with the white shirt on. So it was kinda cool. You can e-mail me if you want any infor on myself or how Jewel was. Yep, Scott's version is the correct version or at least the most updated version for the one you will find flying around on the net...on a side note, when she sang Carnivore in Toronto, she changed quite a bit of the lyrics - now I'm not sure if it was an intentional change, or just because she couldn't remember...but the parts she sang differently that I can recall are: instead of: "lavender haunted you, so I could only laugh in yellow" she said: "blue haunted you...." she took out the "I'll be careful next time for sure" in the chorus altogether. then when she got to the part where she sings: "I did it before but I won't do it again" it was *completely different* and sounded like she just forgot what came in that part so she was ad-libbing, though it was rhymed so it could have been her decision to change it beforehand, but if not, she's very quick on her feet to fill it in :) once CBC radio airs the concert, if they choose to keep that song in (I have a feeling they'll edit part of the concert out because of it's length and all) I'll post what she actually changed that part to :) ~ Sandy ----- Original Message ----- From: Scott To: JFreaks Sent: Monday, July 01, 2002 1:04 PM Subject: Re: [EDA] Carnivore lyrics (which is right?) Alanis Morrissette did hers in the mountians somewhere, and she sang one song in a cave where the light was coming through the top... it was really beautiful. the lighting was awesome during that scene. Plus, Music in Higher Places is an MTV show... so it wouldn't of been the Radio Shack concert. That was a concert that was filmed, and put out exclusively for Radio Shack. I really hope jewel does a Music in High Places episode. So far all the ones Ive seen were awesome, and brought me new respect for the artists doing it.
