Pretty much the same information we already know, but this confirms it. "Jewel Expected To Recover In 12 Weeks" Jewel is expected to recover within 12 weeks from injuries she sustained after being thrown from a horse at her boyfriend, rodeo star Ty Murray's, ranch in Texas Wednesday (April 24), according to doctors. The singer broke her collarbone and first rib in the accident, and was also bruised. An orthopedic surgeon located in Dallas is currently treating her. Jewel's next scheduled concert appearance was Saturday (April 27) at Los Angeles radio station KYSR's (Star 98.7)' Fan Nation 2 concert at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, California. Due to the accident, Jewel was forced to cancel her participation in the concert, however Ryan Adams, Sheryl Crow, Five For Fighting, the Goo Goo Dolls and John Mayer were set to perform as scheduled. Jewel is still determined to embark on her European tour, which is slated to begin on May 10. Jewel should be able to sing within two weeks, although it will be four to six weeks before she can play guitar once again, according to her doctor. As Jewel continues to recover her band will play guitar parts for her.
