I'm way bummed that we didn't get very many responses for the T-Shirts. I designed a shirt that I was gonna make for myself, but I will try once more to see if anyone's interested. Maybe a design will help you decide. http://www-scf.usc.edu/~elizabtn/EDAshirt.jpg It's still possible to get the shirts done in time for her summer tour. I think for it to be worth it, I have to have at least 30-40 people who want to buy it. First let me start by saying, I have contacted Mike about this, and i am still waiting for a reply... so this is NOT final but i want to get a ball park of how many are interested.... I made some calls about shirts, and came up with a company willing to do shirts for less than 10 dollars each Depending on how many shirts they make... the more they make the cheaper they are. BUT, it will be anywhere from 7-10 dollars and that will include the shipping. So, I am interested in seeing any designs that you have come up with, and i will put them on a web site to be voted on. ONce i hear from MIKE about if i should continue with this, i will let you know . He wants to make sure there isn't already a plan in action with another EDA. SO, PLEASE Follow these instructions carefully... Send an E-mail to EDAShirts@aol.com IF you are interested in purchasing a shirt IF things go accordingly. This does not mean you ARE buying one, but only that you would be interested in one. Also please use this same addy to mail me any and all designs that you have created. Be original everyone, i know you can do it :) You have until April 11th to send me your designs, i want to get this rollin' tours are coming! If you're willing to do it, then great -- but I understand also how list members don't want to commit to anything that isn't done yet. Anyway, my point is have we considered using a service with cafepress.com? This seems like a perfect project for them. Just my suggestion. == Rob == ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 7 Apr 2002 20:34:54 -0400 From: "cymbaline" Subject: NJC Re: [EDA] EDA T-Shirts (and "EDA SHIRTS for summer tour") Why do we need a bunch of people stepping up to take charge of T-shirts? Can't just one person do it? And If I remember correctly, a very nice girl by the name of MELISSA tried to get the ball rolling several times, but no one responded. Remember? So, why all of a sudden are people interested if they weren't before? I'm not trying to start an argument, but that kinda irriated me to see 2 posts from 2 different people (in a matter of minutes from eachother), wanting to take charge, when a really nice person, who wanted to do something nice for the EDAs was virtually ignored. I'd pay good money to see Dennis "plywood is sexy" Harris, Mike "you wouldn't like me when I get angry" Connell, or Sean "give me acoustic or give me death" Hooks model midriff tanktops in a public place. Hell, we could make an event out of it and donate the proceeds to the EDAF or perhaps a down payment on the extensive therapy the audience would need afterwards. ;-) Rowdius and lest you think me cowardly...
