All I know is they said each venue had a limited number of primo seats (i.e front rows and close). Add to that the fact that there are probably well over 30,000 subscribers to JewelLink, the competition is obviously a lot larger then there were for EDA-only perks we've had in the past. (JewelLink had 35,000 subscribers when it was launched, I figure it's less now due to the ever continuing problem of people not unsubscribing from such lists before abandoning or killing email addresses. I've been researching for weeks, trying to come to a final decision... but there's a problem. No website I go to (not even Sony.com) will list what effect modes these cameras have (I have no problem finding a list of effects for Hi8 though) So, if anyone has a digital8, can you please tell me... I don't want to buy one then find out it doesn't have something I want (like 16:9 widescreen mode). Thanks so much!! It takes awhile to get used to the feel of the guitar, and you will get calluses on your fingers on the hand you push the strings down with, but that's actually a good thing. My dad taught me how to read the guitar music, and I taught myself all of the chords and everything by reading the music. I don't know if you know how to read sheet music, but it's easier to learn tablature and chord charts (that's the kind of music you use for guitar) than it is to learn all of the notes and everything on piano sheet music if you're new at this. ~ Fairy Angel ~ On Tue, 2 Apr 2002 09:37:47 EST DharmaBliss2000@aol.com writes: > Hey Fellow EDA's: > > I have tons of poetry that would make excellent songs so I want to > transfer > them over. In order to make as many preferred tickets as possible available to you, we've also worked out a pre-sale ticket arrangement for those of you who are AOL members. AOL will offer an additional limited quantity of pre-sale tickets through AOL Box Office. This will enable AOL members to purchase Jewel tickets two days before the tickets go on sale to the general public. Similar to our pre-sale, the AOL tickets will be sold on a first-come; first-serve basis and will be sold at face value (subject to ticketing partner convenience and order processing charges). AOL's additional limited quantity of pre-sale tickets does NOT affect the availability of our exclusive JeweLink/Street Team member tickets. The AOL Box Office pre-sale will go into effect for most of the same venues in our pre-sale on the day AFTER our JeweLink/Street Team ticket sales. AOL members can obtain a password that will enable them to purchase up to four tickets each, through AOL Box Office (AOL Keyword: Box Office). So if you miss out on our pre-sale for a particular concert and you are an AOL member, on the day following our pre-sale, try the AOL Box Office for a second chance at preferred seating. ******************************************** ***NDR2 JEWEL RADIO CONCERT On Monday night, April 15th, an edited version of Jewel's recent concert at Columbiahalle in Berlin, Germany will be broadcast in Europe on radio station NDR2. This will contain two bonus tracks recorded live at Jewel's concerts in San Diego last August. The bonus tracks will be live solo acoustic versions of "Break Me" and "The New Wild West." A companion video for "Break Me" is currently in production, with Michael Lipscombe directing. We'll let you know when it begins running on the music video networks. ******************************************** ***NEW GUEST ARTIST: ALLISON CROWE Once again, it's our great pleasure to invite you to experience a new guest artist at www.jeweljk.com. Our newest musician to be featured is emerging singer-songwriter Allison Crowe, a Canadian from Nanaimo, British Columbia. Although Allison is young and yet to release her first full-length album, she caught my attention, because not only was her voice captivating, I found her songwriting to have remarkable depth. Her voice, poetic and haunting, is a modern original at the same time as it recalls rock's greats of the '60s and '70s. Much like the way many people felt upon hearing Jewel during her InnerChange days, when listening to Allison's music, one recognizes the obvious great potential there and feels lucky to be experiencing her at this point in time. She's been called "a mega-talent in the making" and her music is a testament to the power of the human voice and spirit. We invite you to learn more about Allison and experience her music for yourself. From the main navigation page on www.jeweljk.com, click "favorites." This will bring you to our newest guest artist feature. If you've yet to investigate this area of Jewel's web site, we highly recommend that you do! After checking out Allison's feature, spend some time in our guest artist archive. You will discover many other great artists, both emerging and established, who might not get the press attention they deserve, but are nonetheless, extremely worthy of your attention. -MrBB ******************************************** ***NEW CONTEST AND WINNERS ANNOUNCED Speaking of Jewel's web site, we have the three lucky prize winners of our last contest. Congratulations goes out to B. Nicole Hale, Tracy Platt and Sherry Warning. Your autographed "Pieces Of You" lyric books are on the way. This also means it's time for a new contest! This time, we have three Spirit World Tour Books up for grabs, autographed by Jewel, of course. Winners will be randomly chosen from all entries received on May 31st. We're trying to keep most ticket information in seperate JeweLinks, for the sake of clarity. We realize ticket information JeweLinks cannot apply to everyone and appreciate your understanding during the ticket pre-sales. We hope you won't mind hearing from us on a near-daily basis for a short time. On Wednesday night, we'll be sending you the special instructions for the venues that will be included in part 2 of this first round of ticket pre-sales. While I'm here, I may as well clear up the single most popular question we experienced yesterday. It seems that a supposed AP NewsWire rapidly circulated around the Internet yesterday, stating that Jewel and Ty were secretly married in Texas last weekend. Hmmm. What can I say? The reception was great and I'm still trying to get the BBQ sauce out of my rental tux... no, just kidding... It was an April Fool's Day joke created by a clever and very funny French Jewel fan! He obviously had many people fooled and for all of you who wrote us asking, but didn't receive an answer, we couldn't resist going along with it yesterday. And finally... Complete setlists for Jewel's concerts in Tokyo this past weekend, and last night in Osaka, are now up on the setlist page at www.jeweljk.com. Link on the calendar. Thanks for reading this far!
