This is what I read from the jewelink forwarded to the list by Mike: "Following the conclusion of Jewel's summer tour of North America with her band, she will be taking a short rest and then will be embarking on a solo acoustic tour of additional *North American venues*. A few of these dates have been added to Jewel's web site calendar already and many more will be announced. Many of these solo acoustic concerts will be in smaller more intimate venues and several will have more than one show." It doesn't state these won't be only in CA and NV, but it also doesn't state they will be limited to those 2 states either. And since it's saying "North American venues", I think it would be pretty misleading if that was referring to just a few venues within 2 states. To classify that as "North American". I mean, it doesn't even say US...think about it. So it could even be including venues in Canada (which would make alot of sense since she isn't hitting many cities there on the regular tour), or even other countries in NA. And there are alot of people on the list who ARE new, or may not know all the answers to everything as people who have been on it longer might. I try to answer those kinds of questions whenever I can. For example, the race car driver question I answered by telling that person to check a site such as audiogalaxy.com, for which I was thanked. There are nice ways to address these types of questions, then there are other ways...as in trying to make these people seem like what they have to say is "pointless". Maybe to you it is, but it may not be to everyone, or at least many others. If someone asked how many CD's Jewel had out now, then yeah, maybe that would qualify. But the question about Someday Soon, and a few others I think are valid questions that the average person wouldn't know...even if they've been on the list for awhile. I certainly didn't know who wrote Someday Soon. She gets to pre-purchase tickets to the shows and finds out about special "TBA"s before the public. The only TBAs this year are September 11, 12, and 13th. Can any one take a wild guess at who that might be? If you guessed Def Leopard... you be very wrong. It's Jewel of course. All I can really tell anyone is that tickets for their concerts go on sell to the public on Sun April 7th at 10 pm. I really don't know if this will include Jewel considering they have yet to announce to the public she will be there. She really made some good points though...I don't think anyone on the list knows everything there is to know about Jewel, so maybe rather than jumping on people who may not seem to know something obvious to many, we should try to help them out the best we can. Otherwise their questions are left unanswered in many instances, and then later more questions like that occur. Just do what you can to help, or don't say anything about if you choose not to help out. If someone asked me what her first single was, I would tell them WWSYS. This is a beautiful seated open air venue in the central of California in Saratoga! It has a beautiful accoustic and to my memory come now these memorable nights from September 2000. I travelled all on my own to see Jewel perform and sing accoustic... and what did i read today on the official jewel mailing list jewel@smoe.org is that jewel is performing once again there are 3 nights in a row (11, 12,13 september) nights in Saratoga, CA near San Jose in America.... I was thinking which fans in Europe/USA (netherlands as well) are to be tempted/interested by joining that week in september 2002 to see jewel once again in America, just jewel and her guitar. That has got to be one of the best articles and interviews I have read about Jewel in a long time. The journalist really took the time to research and ask quality questions.
