"Standing Still" entered the weekly Hot 30 charts today at number 30. The Hot 30 list is compiled purely on request basis for the past week for this particular radio station, i.e. this week Standing Still was the 30th most equested song on the station. See the complete chart at http://www.highveld.co.za/music/hot30.asp I'm quite exited... it seems that Standing Still is only now getting more airplay. I don't expect Break Me to even feature for at least a few months... :) I'll keep you updated though! I just wanted to send out a reminder to the So. Cal EDAs to try and get tickets to this event! I've heard stories from people who went the year before and how they were able to meet their favorite artists and how even though the concert itself is held at a large venue, the little booths outside make it well worth it. It's an all day music festival type thing and the tickets are going fast. This event WILL sell out. Yesterday, when I bought the tickets with a "special code," I still got pretty far seats ... in the middle somewhere. Today, I tried to see if I could get better seats because the tickets go on sale to the general public today, but there's no way I can get better seats. Tickets went on sale at 10:00 AM, and it was 10:07 when I logged on. I couldn't get through the first time, then when I got through, the tickets were farther than the ones I got yesterday. I then tried to "look for other seats" ... bad decision, ever farther seats. I urge those that are in the area to try to go! I mean, not only is Jewel gonna be there, but also Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Five for Fighting (who are supposedly quite good live), Goo Goo Dolls, Ryan Adams ... Very good artists I think. Hope to see some of you there! Elizabeth, the tennis-ball-whacking angel P.S. The other night, when she was supposed to be on Leno. I was driving and listening to STar 98.7 (I was trying to win tickets) and then all of a sudden, I hear Jewel talking. I was completely surprised and totally stopped and just sat in the car listening (don't worry, I wasn't being unsafe, I was in a parking lot anyway). So, the DJ, Ryan Seacrest says to her (well, what I can remember) "Thanks for calling us. It's so cool since we knew you were in the area and wanted you to chat a bit. You're going to be on Leno tonight. That's great. We love hanging out with you, thanks for calling. So, what have you been doing?" Jewel: "I've been in Europe, now I'm back. I'll be going to Asia soon." Ryan: "So, where's Ty?" Jewel: "He's right here" Ryan: "CAn we talk to him?" ...some other stuff, but Jewel won't let them talk to him. Ryan says "hahaha, I think Jewel's trying to pull him out of her limelight .. oh yeah, she's just trying to push out of her way." hehe, funny stuff. Anyway, that was just my random Jewel moment I suppose. Also, was it an EDA who called them for Fan Nation tickets and was asked who her favorite artist was and of course it was Jewel? Just curious ... I"m glad Star likes Jewel. They even had a Karaoke thingie to Jewel to win tickets. Awesome. Thanks in advance First of all, this is not an EDA thing. It was announced on JeweLink, which has well over 35,000 subscribers. I then sent the JeweLink to the EDA lists, as I always do for JeweLink announcements that warrant it. (I fully realize many EDAs sub to JeweLink, but many likely do not) Secondly, yes, it IS on the Jewel web page which is open to anyone, so I guess it's pretty wide open "competition" for these seats. (heck, the 35,000+ JeweLink subscribers makes it tough competition, so I would not at all be concerned with the "anyone with internet access" can get the seating) How do other artists do it?
