They talked about her upcoming tour a bit and then they said "And now for the big news... Jewel has fixed her teeth!" And they went on to say how they think it will help her career, etc. Has anyone else heard this? The straightness of her teeth will in no way affect my listening to her, lol, but I was just curious as to whether this was bogus or not.. I'll try it again, and see if anyone cares this time. Is anything from "This Way" being played on the radio in your area? And if so, what? Here in PA I have not heard Standing Still for ages. Now, is that a concise enough question? I hope so...and it's very relevant. _____________________________________________________________ Get your free Crapmail---> http://www.crapmail.com _____________________________________________________________ You deserve a better email address! The 13th is just out of the question for me!! How unfair. She hardly ever comes here. It has been since Spirit that I have seen her in concert, and that was sucky seating at best. Now I will have to miss this one. So sad. Anyone live in Minnesota? Anyone going to the Minnesota concert? If so PLEASE boot it for me!!! She wrote it for Ty, so I dont think that it would be about a guy hurting her (emotionally). I think that the song is absolutely beautiful. You can really here the feeling in it and know that she really feels what she sings. I love it when she does that :) I am so glad that it is the next single. All list members and their friends are invited to attend a Living Room Concert on Saturday, March 23rd, featuring the lovely Randi Driscoll and the equally lovely EDA Amy Emerman. For those of you who have only heard about the magic of a Living Room show, this is your chance to see what the excitement is all about! Los Angeles resident Randi Driscoll, who entertained EDAF beach cleanup participants a few seasons ago at the Campbell's, is going to be back in town to promote her new album The Play. She's gained national recognition for her song "What Matters" from which she gives all proceeds to the Matthew Shepard Foundation and other anti-hate charities. The song is also going to be featured in an upcoming NBC movie about Matthew Shepard's life. (For more info & downloads, visit www.randidriscoll.com) Amy Emerman is a New York City based singer/songwriter who has just begun to take her love of singing and playing to a wider audience. Amy, who's musical influences include Jewel, Patty Griffin, and Natalie Merchant, has just cut her work schedule to part time to make room for music, singing and songwriting to play a larger part in her life. Please come out and support the rise of these talented singer songwriters! There will be some refreshments provided and you are welcome to bring additional food & beverages. THE DETAILS: Date: Saturday, March 23, 2002 Time: 4:30 Party starts 6:00 Amy Emerman 7:00 Randi Driscoll Place: Cliffside Park, NJ; easily accessible by car or bus RSVP: Amy Neufeld at w1ggy2@aol.com for exact address and details ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 04 Mar 2002 16:15:37 +0100 (CET) From: romeantic@email.si Subject: [EDA] Pissy grumblings I DON'T agree with everything Alisa said. First of all people like to vent to others. I'm sure Alisa does as well... unless she has never unloaded her problems on a friend or whoever not expecting them to solve them, but just to listen. I know I do, so to just dismiss that post as being without purpose would be wrong. Secondly, she herself said that she's surprised that Sean likes more than 2 songs from the last album... and then later she says among the rest "i still see it in her, but you obviously dont. and thats not jewels fault... its yours!" Well it can't be both. He obviously still sees it (to various extent in like more than half of the last album). Just not in everything she does. AFAIK he (or me or I guess most of us) didn't equally like everything she did before and it's the same now. Except, before, all of her songs had a similar style... now she's embraced production and is doing many different things... which makes it much easier for somebody to find something that rubs them the wrong way. Of course with the history of excellent lyrics Jewel served us (that continues on some part of this album as well) it is really obvious when you get a taste of plain or even completely cheesy lyrics. Now with Break Me it's a different point of view that causes disagreement which we established when we had that discussion a while ago and am not getting into it again... it is something that should be taken as a fact and let it go. I love the song and think it's infinitely better than This Way, I'm just not sure how this will do on radio... I'd definitely put IWWA before Break Me for a ballad to be released, but we shall see what happens. And while on this song... Sean... I think you said you're not yet decided on #10... not that our tastes are the same and that I can tell what you like... but I do understand where your coming from in most cases... so that's why I can say... let it go... it's OK... this one is quality material and it's safe to like! :) Have a nice day and stay away from the lard I. - ------------------- http://www.email.si ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Mar 2002 16:08:34 -0500 From: "HORTER!!!"
