Most people come to see Jewel because of her ornate ability to capture an audience with her almost unparalleled talent. Most of us don't come to see her gyrate around and tear her clothes off (which by the way is no concert at all, Britney). Thus, since we come to hear wonderful music--why not get our every pennies worth? Sure, I loved Poltz and others, but a talent like John Mayer would complement Jewel's music to an exponential degree, and most likely, every jaw would be on the floor by the time he finished his set. No offense to Michelle Branch, she's off to a great start for such a young and "unweathered" musician, but she needs a little more time in the biz, a little more dirt under her feet before she moves in front of a more adult audience--right now MTV and pop radio seem to be a comfort zone for her. I'd like to see what she could do in a couple years.Just a thought. Those two don't even compare! John Mayer is such an incredible artist. His songwriting is probably the most clever in the world. Even his saddest songs have little lines tucked in there that make me grin from ear to ear. His words are both honest, true, and funny, which is something not many people can do. And I've heard some of his live stuff - this man is one in a million. Not only a great voice and great songs, but he adds to them and changes them in the most interesting ways. Merging songs together, adding even funnier lines to already funny songs. This guy knows how to make people enjoy a concert. Not only that but his guitar playing is pretty damn good too. No offense to Michelle Branch fans, her album's pretty decent, but she really can't compare to this musical genius. I hope Jewel tours with John because that's probably the only chance I'll get to see him in Europe for a while, and I want to see him before he blows up. And believe me he will. The only problem'll be that, since he'll be support, his set will be way too short and I won't want it to end. Cheers, Tom. Fan of...
