I am a Marine Corps wife living with my husband on Okinawa, Japan. I was so excited when I saw that Jewel was going to do some Japanese touring, since there is no way I would be able to attend any of her domestic shows. Now the problem, does anyone know how I can get tickets? Osaka is on mainland Japan, so I can't exactly look in the telephone book for the venue. Not to mention the language barrier... I tried a web search of the name of the hall (Kosei Nenkin Hall) but I couldn't find anything about it. I tried TicketMaster.com, but they don't carry tickets for Japan. Can someone please help me??? Thanks so much. Christy the Tattoed angel ===== "Lend your voices only to sounds of freedom." -- Jewel Send FREE video emails in Yahoo! I really think they only meant to do the regular 3 people/show with her on it, only they couldn't edit it down enough, with her taking a bubble bath and all! ~ Sandy ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Jan 2002 01:44:21 -0500 From: "Nicky Rheaume" Subject: [EDA] Last Call Hey EDAs, Sorry if I've been out of it...I'm on digest now and don't always get to read everything. Will anyone be at the taping for Last Call? I found out that I got tickets, so once I get the time off work, I'm set to go. It's going to be over a 3 hour drive for me, but whatever...it's all good. Nicky angel on horseback ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Jan 2002 03:11:09 -0500 From: "Sheila56" Subject: Re: [EDA] NJC: MTV Cribs - Mariah Carey edition COOL...oh soooo cool...i can see me now....you know, i actually do have much experience with the golf carts too..haha. As a child, when not at the golf coarse, my dad would let me drive his electric golf cart in the yard... i was just a kid under his watchful eye. But for some reason i always wanted to drive the car...learned how at a very young age...a stick shift corvair....on the way to the golf coarse. If i had a house big as Mariah's ...i think i would enjoy rollerskating...if you only knew the visions in my head with all this....so much fun!!! Okay, about Ciara again...tonight we took her out singing....two different places tonight and i could not believe it. Both places...standing ovations!!! Tonight she also sang Jewels song SS...with Jewel...no karaoke cd available yet to purchase. The greatest part about it is that the KJ introduced Jewel as Ciara's favorite singer and the crowd (a very large crowd) went nuts...you could tell that they know Jewel and love her music. Then the music started and Ciara sung her heart out...she did an excellent job...it really suprised me..Jewel's voice was low in the background but enough to hear it...it was beautiful! At the last place we went...one man went to the mic after Ciara sang ...said a few words about her singing and asked her how old she was...she said seven and then he gave her seven dollars....oh my , you should have seen her smile with those big dimples. She said thank you! would you like me to sing one more...it was so funny...the whole place was laughing. Lastly she sang the National Anthem...and it just gives you chills...this little girl with such a big voice...people always tell me she has talent...and its true...she really does. I hope someday at an eda gathering she can sing for you all...you will be suprised how good she really is. No ...i am not bragging about Ciara as i tell you all these things about her....she is my daughter and i am proud of her for many reasons, she is your fellow eda and she loves Jewel so much and this is where i like to share her...mostly with the eda's. Honestly, we receive so many private emails from eda's and eda's i have never seen post to the list. Many eda's ask about her often...and ask me to let her post again. So please...i am sharing Ciara with you all. Now i just want to say one more little thing....when we go into a venue, there are always people talking ect...then the music starts and as soon as Ciara starts singing...the whole place goes quite...then many people turn around to look at me??!!! Why do they always have to turn around and look at me?? I am alittle shy and it always makes me feel so funny...well mostly its those people that eventually end up at my table to ask about Ciara. Tonight was a great night for her singing voice...she was awesome. She doesn't take voice lessons....she did attend the Institute of Music at age 5, they wanted her to audition...she did and i was told she is a saprano and for her not to sing in the high voice as she could damage her vocal chords, but at this age they don't try to teach you to use your voice much...more so they teach you to choose your own music and get you used to the stage...many recitals. She had a total of four hours with a vocal coach in June, just prior to recording her own cd. Thats it. Now the vocal coach always wants Ciara when she has a special show to do, but she has no lessons. I asked the teacher (opera) at the Institute of Music...how is it that she can sing like this....she said...its a god given talent...a child her age cannot be taught to sing like this. So many people, family, friends and such...they all say she's gonna be a star someday and they are excited for her.....me, i really don't know how i feel about it all...it scares me...really, i don't think this would be my choice for Ciara. Being in this field could be harmful...if i knew that she would be free from alcohol and drugs like Jewel, then maybe i would feel better about it...but i do support her with all this singing...people tell me do not hold her back...let her go?? it is great, good fun to go out singing with her like this. Ciara is almost finished with her third year of drama at a school of performing arts...she always wanted to be an actress on tv...the Barney show was her favorite. While she still loves the acting and all....her heart is mostly with the singing...she now says, i would like to be a singing-actor. hahaha. people always laugh when she says it. ps. i don't want anyone telling me that i think she sings like Jewel....Ciara does not sing as well as Jewel or like Jewel...but she is completely inspired by all Jewel does...singing, poetry, guitar, composing songs/words and melody. Jewel is her mentor, her hero and she likes to believe Jewel is an angel ...without wings. There are days that she wants to be Jewel...she says...mom, will you just call me Jewel today? i go along with it. she soon forgets who shes pretending to be. It's really a shame this place is no longer a "respite" from everyday life but more like a mirror of it. However, I have still found that getting together in person still has much of the old magic and almost never the unpleasant bickering. SO, I would like to encourage you guys to start planning gatherings again in different parts of the country. When was the last gathering outside of the NY area anyway? (There is also the added benefit that once people start to get to know each other as people and not just screen names, it's not so easy or acceptable to go around bashing each other). With that being said....I am planning to be in Southern California for work the last week of January and for vacation the first week of Febuary, so if anyone would like to get together out there between Feb. 1-7 let me know! Also, if anyone knows of any fun stuff/good music happening out there during that week please clue me in. I MAY also be in Southern Florida sometime in March- has there ever been a gathering in Florida? Hmmmm. :-) BTW, I'm not suggesting that my visits warrant a gathering just to celebrate - - well, me. Oh wait, yes I am. J/K....LOL! Be seeing some of you soon, I hope, Amy N. BEST TIP for planning a gathering: Don't post to the list asking ppl if they might be interested or what they'd want to do. Just take the bull by the horns, plan it out, and say this is what we're doing, where we're doing it, and when. Then ask who plans to attend. Otherwise, it will never happen - trust me! I've seen these things fizzle out dozens of times. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Jan 2002 15:08:52 -0500 From: "Sheila56" Subject: [EDA] NJC: computer language would someone please email me and tell me the meaning of this computer language? please.
