Kelli sent a *private* e-mail to Sheila. Some words were said that could be interpretted as not being very "nice". Some allegations were made as well (in which I still don't know how or if they were verified) 2. Sheila got upset, and forwarded that message to a public e-mail list. Why? 3. Kelli then sent a note stating she only typed that as a test to see what would happen. I'm guessing her prediction was correct. 4. Others jump on Kelli's back saying she violated list netiquette policies, etc., and shouldn't be tolerated. Here's reality now....Kelli hasn't violated any list policies. (I know this since others have done the same thing (and far worse) to ME and I was told THEY didn't violate any *list* policies) What she did was OFF list. Sheila, on the other hand, did indeed violate a list policy. That being not to send a private e-mail (or even worse, FORWARD a private e-mail) to the list. I know others who have done this in the past, and things were said to them for doing this. As far as I know, nothing has been said to Sheila about this, from anyone whom it would matter, which surprises me. Well, actually, it doesn't. But ultimately, while what Kelli typed may not have been the nicest thing in the world, whether she was serious or not, or had her facts right or not, that still doesn't justify Sheila being able to break a list policy and not have anything said to her about it. I know for a fact, from experience, and from others telling me this, that things like this aren't tolerated, and obviously shouldn't be. Yet, she's allowed to get away with this, and has said she will continue to do this over and over again as needed...and then some. What ever that last part means I don't know. Fill in your own blanks. So as a 3rd party looking in on the outside, I actually think Kelli did the lesser of the 2 wrongs...at least what she did was in private, and would have stayed that way had Sheila not forwarded it to the list. Kelli didn't blatantly try to insult Sheila to a public e-mail list. Sheila sort of did that herself actually. I really don't understand why unless she was trying to prove some point about Kelli. It just seemed like what Sheila did, as a result, is what caused all the controversy. Well, it DID. Since no one would have even known about it at all had she not forwarded that e-mail. So before others get upset about Kelli, remember that *she* didn't violate any list policies. If you don't want to like her as a person, then so be it, but don't get the 2 things confused. This is an e-mail list, and in that respect, Sheila is the reason for the controversy. Again, this rule insures privacy protection for the author, who likely sent the message assuming only you would read it." cymbie tree hugger - -- when night falls it's dawn one must reach for. - -a. camus ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 Dec 2001 16:35:59 -0500 From: shawneyeda@juno.com Subject: [EDA] street team i'am having trouble signing up for the street team again. i've tried it more than once and everytime i try to log in to it, it says my password is wrong, but i know it's not. does anyone know what's wrong or know the email address for the jeweljk site? love ya, shawney the hippie angel ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! I don't know about any of you, but if someone wrote such a nasty email to my child, I would raise hell and a half.. I'm surprised Sheila's reaction wasn't MORE severe! I would probably make it public too, because people should be warned about someone among them who's going to use the list as a way to attack people personally.. Kelli said it was a "test"...what the hell is that crap? It's not a test to write to someone's kid and tell them that their mom is a whore! That's completely threatening and insulting in nature.. If she did that to Sheila, then there's no saying she won't do it to others.. I'm not saying Kelli would, because I don't think she would, but one email is one too many.. Even if you don't believe Sheila/Cierra, they haven't done anything bad to the list, and they CERTAINLY haven't done anything to warrant that.. You could have said that they were threatening people off list and making commotion, but no one has complained or said anything to confirm that, and Kelli said it was a "test".. To use the list as a way to insult people privately is completely unacceptable. scott.evans [[mind is DISCONNECTED. but my heart is WIRED.]] AOL IM: sevans112 . Yahoo!
