In fact, come to think of it, I don't know a SINGLE person with crooked teeth who has not or is not planning to have them straightened. I had crooked teeth and I had them straightened! That doesn't mean I have low self confidence... it's just frankly a LOT more comfortable to have straight symmetrical teeth in your mouth than jagged teeth all over the place... it's a hell of a lot easier to clean them.. and the chances of getting cavities in places you can't reach with the brush is far less.. therefore increasing the chances of your teeth NOT FALLING OUT. It's a hygene issue as much as it's an issue of vanity or even jaw problems. I'm sure Jewel wanted to straighten them when she was younger, but her family didn't have the money. And now, if she wants to straighten them, what's the big deal? I think I remember her saying that dentists constantly tell her to get them straightened for dental hygene reasons... Chances of her actually straightening them are pretty slim though... I'm sure she knows her fans would outcry... her teeth are a symbol of her non-materialistic attitude... but guess what - they're JUST a symbol. It doesn't mean anything ACTUALLY. It's more a representation of the fact that she was poor when she was young really. steve ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Dec 2001 15:08:41 -0500 From: shawneyeda@juno.com Subject: Re: [EDA] Britney Spears new music video looks very much like SS also the new Train video "Something More," looks like "SS." love ya, shawney the hippie angel ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! It's odd that her single is so close to being Top 10, yet her album is out of the Top 50. If the single DOES become Top 10 and stays for any length of time we should see a result of increased album sales... one would think. Hi everyone, although I've been on the list for ages, I've always been a lurker-but the news of a Jewel show in Holland made me so happy I just had to post!!! Um, I guess it's pretty obvious I live in Holland (Amsterdam); my name's Emmi and I'm 20. I've been a fan for about four years I think, but I've only ever seen Jewel at Pinkpop a couple of years ago, and that was a festival so it wasn't a full-length concert. Also, we spent a lot of time trying to get closer to the stage, as we were all the way in the back because my sister wanted to see an act that was playing on another stage just before Jewel's show. So you can understand why I'm so excited-Michiel and Marcel, you are sure about this, right?! For those of you who are planning on going and have never been to Carre, it's not that big (probably holds about 2-3000 people, but I'm not sure), and it's actually a very high-profile and posh venue-it's pretty cool Jewel's playing it. Michiel (or anyone else), could you maybe let me know when tickets become available? I'm going to call Carre and ask, but I might miss out anyway or something. I really want to get good seats, because the venue has rising walls, so you could end up sitting very high and far away from the stage if you know what I mean. Well, thanks if you've read until here...I'm just gonna go and be very happy and excited some more!!:) Lots of love, Emmi *the angel with a hopeful heart* ~But if I were to bet all of the french fries in the world that you would say such things, I'd surely be one very hungry girl~ Jewel +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Dec 2001 16:57:35 -0600 From: "Kovacs, Mirinda" Subject: RE: [EDA] the People show When the heck was this on? Next up to will be the title track. Jewel plans to remix the track in Nashville in mid-January with a radio release soon to follow. Commercial release status is not yet determined, but she will shoot another video for "This Way" next month. ******************************************** ***EUROPEAN PLAN OVERVIEW We suspect many European JeweLink members already have Jewel's album via import, but for those so patiently waiting, it will be available domestically on February 25th. Coinciding with the release, Jewel will embark on a promo tour of Europe. In addition to the many television and radio appearances now being scheduled and the Royal Festival Hall concert in London, a few additional concerts are in the process of being considered. (Note: contrary to reports and rumors circulating, no concerts, other than London, are confirmed as of today. Status on this can change over the next few days. As additional Europe concerts are really confirmed, we'll add them to Jewel's web site calendar.) During February, Jewel will also be taping several TV shows, including "2Nite" in Germany, "Musica Si" in Spain and others yet to be announced. Plans are for Jewel to return to Europe for a full tour in May of 2002, with tentatively planned concert stops in England, Ireland, Germany, The Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Denmark and Sweden. She's also confirmed for sets at several major festivals, among them Pink Pop and Rock Am Ringe. As additional scheduling becomes finalized, it will be added to the www.jeweljk.com calendar. Check it often for the latest accurate information. ******************************************** ***NEW TV CONFIRMATION AND SCHEDULE Jewel will pay a return visit to David Letterman on The Late Show on Tuesday, January 15th.
