There's this station thingy called Muzak that most places use, so that may be why we're hearing it in different fast food places. Also, I have asked for angelfood and no one helped me out either. I have been a list memeber off and on for about 2 years now, and it was different then. But just as we can't expect Jewel to stay the same, we can't expect the list or ourselves to be the same over the years either. But as a plead to all of the EDA's out there, I'm interested in any angelfood one would be willing to share. I can pay for the tapes/cds and postage. Just let me know. Emily 2. Nicotine Love These are my two all-time favourites -- the rest are in no particular order, though Louisa would be my no. 3 3. Louisa and Her Blue Guitar 4. All the Animals 5. His Pleasure Is My Pain 6. Buttercup 7. Moon Over Austin 8. A Very Big Girl 9. A Housewife's Revenge 10. (My Own Private) God's Gift to Women and a hundred others that are not on Jewel's albums. As for JewelStock tapes, I was involved with the Angelfood Bank, when it was operating, in Australia. I'm still happy to make tapes for anyone who'd like them: JewelStock (3 tapes), Jewel Rocks the Paradise, Jeweltide Carols, Rare Angels 1995, Radio Angels 96 (where I first heard "Nicotine Love"!), and I have lots of others too. All I ask is for blank cassettes and postage. Obviously it's simpler to do within Australia but I'm happy to send them overseas if you provide the international postage coupons (and the blank tapes). Please reply to me privately, barry.howarth@anu.edu.au or blh@cybermac.com.au Take care, Barry Howarth ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Dec 2001 20:45:16 -0500 From: "sean stevens" Subject: [EDA] CD vs. Analog tape Hey there- Rarely post, but had to make a brief comment - CDs are far superior to tapes. Analog tapes are wonderful- I have over 250 live shows on analog tape and about the same on VHS- the problem is (that as George and others mention)- they will not last "the test of time." The tape has contact w/ heads (..friction), is pulled and ultimately stretched, etc. When it comes to saving precious moments -anything on tape is in jeopardy of being lost b/c it is a much more fragile media and is put through much more "stress". I've already had some audio loss on tapes that are 10 years old......... Live music can be so powerful- it's nice to relive that. There's nothing better than listening to a copy of live show that you attended and enjoyed. I'll do what I can to hold onto that. When I first started working there my store had a cd with Hands on it. Then I helped open a new store where they had cds with You Were Meant For Me, Foolish Games and Sunshine Superman. So I switched out those cds and brought them back to my store. I played out those cds so quick. A few months latter I went on the Jamba Juice web site and they had a section where you can request music to be played in the stores. Two months go bye then we recieved a cd with Jewels' cover of You Make Loving Fun. Man, that was a cool job. - -Billy - ---------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Dec 2001 21:24:27 -0500 From: "Sheila56" Subject: Re: [EDA] Ciara age 7 my 2 songs awwww....that was so nice.
