Subject: [EDA] now and zen fest someone mentioned something pissing off or embaracing jewel when she was on alice, the radio station in SF. well i was wondering about that too. i was at now and zen fest and if i knew what happend some things would make a whole lot more sense. cus she was not her chipper self that day, she seemed like she was out for revenge on their radio station, not literally, but her body language suggested quite a bit of tension. so were you guys talking about something happening during the show or was it a previous on air radio interview?? cus i mean there was a few things that happend during the show... the drunk guy calling her a f#$%ing sell out. and her reply back to him: "im a f@#%ing sell out?!". there was also the person who threw the bead necklace hiting her in the neck, her reply being the middle finger... now maybe these reactions were the side affects of somthing that we dont know about that went on at the radio station... hmmmmm will we ever know?? now and zen girl... the name had got to be obvious by now... alisa - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 07 Dec 2001 09:41:07 +0000 From: "now and zen girl" Subject: [EDA] winter wonder land SF show oh my god! ive lost track, is this my 4th or 5th post!! oh well.. making up for lost time. i just wanted to thank those of you who put up reviews of the SF alice winter wonderland show. i really enjoyed reading about it. it was very neat to hear about all the respect jewel was given by the audience, that makes me really happy!! cus these people arent even nessessarily jewel fans at all! thanks again! ok thats the last post.... its really late, im going to bed... i have a music test tomorrow... wish me luck! well by the time you get this ill have taken the test, but what the heck! alisa - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 07 Dec 2001 09:57:24 +0000 From: "now and zen girl" Subject: [EDA] z100 jingle ball poll i just checked the z100 jingle ball poll and WOW!! the way that they were showing the votes before was very decieving. jewel has 50% of the votes!!!! o-town, who appeard to be right behind her, only have around 6%! and i was quite shocked to see that alicia keys had zero! wow! jewel sure is domintating!!! Okay, I usually try to stay out of all the crap like this since it just creates more attention to the issue, but I'm going to restate something I said awhile back. Let me start by saying that I've had my days where Derrick gets on my damn nerves, but then of course...I think everyone gets on everybody's nerves at some point in life. Anyway... as cymbie said, the more you sit here and post things about the person the more attention you are giving them...which is what you are complaining about Derrick trying to do. Well, it's working. You know why ? Because you keep posting about him. Now, I will say that sometimes his communication can leave a little to be desired, but I'd take five Derricks over one Sean any day. Past that, I posted something a few months back about tolerance. If everyone would have a little more tolerance on here instead of the constant (I'm right, you'rre wrong) posts, I think a lot of the negativity that people have talked about would go away. Allow people room for their opinions. If you don't like them, well then, scroll past the post (in the case of the digest) or just delete the email. Words have no power unless you give it to them. I could call you a badger, but if you like badgers, then it wouldn't have the same effect than if you didn't (heh, badger...take that... :-P ) You both have the right to spout off, but don't spout off complaining about people spouting off...seems a little silly. If someone like Derrick, Sean, or hell, even me, never got responses to our posts, then afterwhile, we probably wouldn't even bother. Why post something if no one is gonna read it ? We should all try this: See if you can avoid using the word "WRONG" in any of your (I mean all the EDAs) posts from now on (or anything that means the same...cheaters). By the way, sorry for all the posts today...I'm playing catch up on the list...my computer is being a butt Lew www.coilback.com Date: Thu, 6 Dec 2001 13:05:59 -0800 From: "TSUNAMI" Subject: RE: [EDA] freedom's just another word... I realize that Derrick is Cymbie's friend, and we tend to overlook the excesses of our friends, and that's natural. But, really, Mike or others may have other knowledge of bigger pains-in-the-butt, but, it seems to me that Derrick-it's-all-about-me-Karacostas is the most pernicious presence on this list since the long, not-lamented, Burritohead. When I presented a Tara MacLean concert here on Salt Spring, where Tara wrote most of the songs of her debut CD Silence, D whined and whinged, and griped that she wasn't playing in HIS town. Then I recall him making up a bunch of lies about Jamie, in New Orleans, and trying to turn other EDAs against her. His tiff with Dennis Harris is also exemplary. His attacks on Sheila were just typical of his bullying, mean-spirited, nature. I could list dozens of examples - but that would just feed his ego. Just read his posts of the past 24 hours - a peevish review of Jewel, complain, complain, complain, a slavishly adulatory hype of Michelle Branch - hey, she recognized me! me! me! me! - and so on; unlike the 1000 or more EDAs on this list who come here to talk about music and life, D comes here to talk about himself, and the world according to D; that's not sharing, that's taking this list hostage to serve his ego; there's a reason D was banned from this list ~ and Cymbie, you'd help us all out if you'd talk to him about wising up and being kinder to the rest of this community. If he really doesn't like Jewel, and finds fault with so many EDAs, it's not fair that he continues to use this list as a forum to grab attention for himself. peace, Adrian ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 07 Dec 2001 03:47:07 -0800 From: "Jewel Fan" Subject: Re: [EDA] headphones Hey! It was hard to do this.. but it did give me an EXCUSE ;) to listen to Jewel! hehehe! Anyway... I couldn't find any strange, out of the ordinary sounds in this cd... but I did manage to hear a strange, (stranger than usual) Jewel, sound effect. Perhaps you can hear it w/o the headphones... but i though i'd point it out anyway. On LMJLMA, right when she's saying, "your mother was a wolf bite, you daddy was a (weird sound effect), uhh, ciggarette." It was weird. I think she looked the absolute best in DSL! Her hair was great.. I loved the was she looked when it shows her playing with her band. Um... and the other part when she's alone w/ her hair really nice and everything. Also... NO COWBOY BOOTS, lol. Thats a plus already. I've been the first one to try to tell people if they don't agree with someone, to send a private reply back to that person. Those 2 can then duke it out until they either both give up or come to some resolution. But most people around here feel as if they need some backup, maybe they're just insecure with their own beliefs, I really don't know, but for that reason they seem to choose to go public more often then not, so then everyone else sees the post and the rest becomes history. > ---------- > From: Lee Garner[SMTP:peno14230@yahoo.com] > Sent: Friday, December 07, 2001 12:38 AM > To: jewel@smoe.org > Subject: [EDA] {NJC} - Outsider's look at the EDA's... > > Howdy y'all, > > I have been talking recently to the person I took to > Nashbash about what the EDA "family" looks like from > an outsider's perspective.
