I am just starting to hear some of the songs you all have been talking about. Anyway, I came across what said it was Jewel singing Wild Horses. The voice sounded similar to hers, but in ways it didn't sound like her. I sent it to my little sister and she said that it wasn't Jewel. So, can you guys tell me for sure if there is a file of her doing Wild Horses? I don't want to keep it on my hard drive and have other people think it is her if it isn't. Okay, I know that was pretty long and drawn out, but I am just super bored today. Who was your biggest musical inspiration? 2. Who is your favorite band to listen to when you are able to be alone just enjoying music? 3. What's your favorite thing about being famous and what is the least favorite? :) Mi Rinda ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Nov 2001 07:50:30 -0800 From: "Larry G." I know last year she didn't, but I'm hoping with the new album release maybe they'll release one with the pictures from TW and maybe some old ones from POY or Spirit. If anyone knows, fill me in! Another thing, I have recently moved and realized that all of my cassette tape Angelfood didn't make it with me, so if anyone can help me out with anything email me please, it would be very much appreciated. ~* Me *~ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Nov 2001 10:38:06 -0600 From: "Karacostas, Derrick W." People who are interested in the issue might want to read this - I'm sure it's available in local bookstores or libraries. Here's just a few, brief, samples: Whitney Houston - "Fame doesn't solve anything. It just makes people more dangerous. You've got people who love you so much they hate you." (lol sounds like that description could apply to the few folks on this list who labour pointedly, but pointlessly, to calculate Jewel's "wage"; geez, if someone spends many years of their life dedicated to an art/craft, one that brings you, as a member of the public, joy, where do you get off ignorantly phsychoanalyzing and saying how you'd feel in their shoes, if you don't have a real clue what it means to be them?; live and let live!); Richard Dreyfuss - "If I had known about the privacy thing, I might have made a different choice"; Julia Roberts - "I don't like to be mean to fans, but I have to have cops around me now. The worst is when people come up and just grab you."; John Goodman - "Fame? It sucks. I'd rather not be famous. I'm sorry if that sounds weird, but it's the truth." Reading the digests of this list over recent days, it's clear that most people here are reasonable souls; as always, unfortunately, there's one or two people who, intentionally or otherwise, seek to impose their omniscience on the list - demanding attention to their ideas, and shoving opinions on others; the recent banning of a list member is exemplary of what such negativity spawns (and really, was it 30 days that list member was off cooling, with time to reconsider their self-righteous bullying? - it hardly seems that long ago); when someone posts inanities about things of which they are ignorant, it's historically proven best to ignore them and carry on discussions with those EDAs who know that we are who we are - and if any one, such as Jewel, has the talent, desire and work ethic to make it in the mercilessly cut-throat entertainment industy, it's best to wish them well - for they are, both, blessed and cursed by their position. peace, Adrian (the-media-totin'-soon-to-be-emailing-Cindy-Lee-Angel) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Nov 2001 14:14:34 -0500 From: "Tom Browning" Subject: [EDA] re: 3 questions >------------------------------ > >Date: Fri, 30 Nov 2001 00:53:56 -0600 >From: "Karacostas, Derrick W." >Subject: [EDA] The money issue >>PS...since most people didn't reply to my thread a few days ago, about the >>3 >questions you would ask Jewel if you had a chance, I guess I've already >gotten the answer. Some people talk about life in terms of giving while most only think about getting. I know a lot of people like that. Preoccupied with getting and having they are so aware of what they don't have that they never enjoy what they do. They live in an "if only" world, always at least one step away from happiness. "If only I could get this raise, make this sale, pay off my debts, win this game, I'd be happy." I believe that human nature itself impedes our ability to be happy. And that children learn to demand "more" as soon as they begin to communicate and that the desire for more can never be satisfied because the more we have, the more we want. I think person is generally about as happy as he's willing to be. I've learned that happiness is a way of looking at your life. It's about choosing good feelings over bad, positive attitudes over negative ones, and gratitude over greed. Thus, people who are poor, ugly, and in ill health can be considerably happier than people who are rich, beautiful and healthy because they choose to be. Happiness is not getting what we want; it's learning to want what we get. ===== Your favorite Geni, Jeannie Djinn Visit My Yahoo Profile: http://profiles.yahoo.com/jeanniedjinn Buy the perfect holiday gifts at Yahoo!
