Otherwise, here is this week's TV scheduling information. > - ------ Whoa...I'm even starting to spook myself out now! (refer to my post a couple days ago...jokingly, when I said wouldn't it be funny if her "old" band showed up on a "future" Craig Kilborn show - at which time I had no idea plans were in the works for her to be on this show) Granted the above states she will be solo...BUT, that's a step in the right direction at least. I'll be surprised if she plays Standing Still solo. It could happen, but it would be unlikely. Hmmm....makes one wonder doesn't it? :-) Was/is she getting tired ot her band and/or Standing Still? This, afterall, will be her first solo performance since her CD release, on TV that is. The timing is incredible. I do think there was something going on with the Conan show...and I do believe we will see that result this coming Friday on what I'm sure will be a much better performance. Don't ask how I know these things...I mean, first the whole Garth incident, and now this. I really have no idea! Call it lucky guessing. :-) (combined with a bit of insight and common sense) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Nov 2001 19:30:10 -0500 (EST) From: space_bandits@webtv.net Subject: [EDA] Re: NJC: Emo Who is emo? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Nov 2001 19:34:12 -0500 From: "Scott" Subject: Re: [EDA] Kilborn!!! :-) This solo acoustic appearance has been on the calendar for like 2 weeks though.. It's been known even though JeweLink hasn't formally announced it.. So it's (the solo thing) not something caused by the Conan show.. Maybe the band couldn't get together.. Whatever reason, it's been planned for awhile.. <> scott.evans [[mind is DISCONNECTED. but my heart is WIRED.]] AOL IM: sevans112 . Yahoo! Hey angels, Well, here's my weeklyish mail promoting something else other than Jewel ;) I'm sure you will all love the music though, so please take a listen :) Anyways, first off try giving a listen to Heather Bodell. I know I've said it before, but I'm sure you'll love her. Here's a couple of links http://heatherbodell.cjb.net make sure you listen to her song "Forever and Always" at her section at M p 3 . c o m. Also there's another artist I just found from hanging round the Michelle Branch boards (hehe, just throwing in a Michelle Branch plug as usual ;) ). Anyways, her name is Jessica Harp (you may of heard of her already) and she has a beautiful voice and you all have to definitely check her out. Her homepage is http://www.jessicaharp.net/ My suggestion once you get there is go to her multimedia section and to audio and download her song "You, San Francisco and Me". I'm sure it will have you hooked immediately. I love this song. Please take a listen to these two, I'm sure they both would appreciate it and so would I :) Also the question at the moment is "Why are YOU an EDA?", well it's simple. Since 96' I've been reading these mails and have known of the list (didn't POST much though, was on the Undernet channels too much ;) ) and for about a year somewhere I don't think I even read a single mail. But this list is such a great place to meet people with great music taste and also with great hearts. I guess their will always be some conflicts, but overall I've seen more spirit than despair and the friends I've made, some that I have now completely lost track of, I would rather be an EDA, than not. Also I'm here to tell you all.................go listen to MICHELLE BRANCH she rocks ;) and just on the comment of >>> Michelle Branch is teen pop with a guitar. you're right on each word here Sean, she is a teen, some of her songs are pop and she does play a guitar. So she's young, Jewel was young once, is that a reason she's no good? Michelle does have songs that are poppy, is this always a bad thing, most songs are of this style these days? you should listen to her live shows, or to her acoustic versions of some of her songs, I'm sure you would change your mind about just being "teen pop". And in my opinion playing a guitar means she's talented, she's pretty much been playing since she's was 14 and she's pretty good. But your welcome to your opinion, as am I. Also finally I think the tape tree idea is great. I just apologise to the person who has to pay the shipping charges to send me a tape here in australia ;) Take Care Daniel "There is a paradise that can be found... A better life to bring us round... I didn4t feel like writing to the list these last weeks, I've been so tired and downhearted but anyway here I am again... at least I've read some posts regarding a special gift to Jewel.. I couldn't hold my idea any longer, so here I go.. I've been thinking on some CD (or X number of CDs) with kind and encouraging words from us EDAs... I mean something like a 15 or 20 sec congrat or salute for each EDA list member willing to participate on this quest. each single track taken from you all might go on a burned CD or any number of CDs as EDA members actually are around the list, as an example: On a burned CD of 80 minutes respectively could hold 1.200 tracks with a nice "Hi, how are ya!!" (salute) of 15 sec each person. So.. I'm able to make the artwork for the CD (cover, back cover, CD cover) and a booklet with the names of each member of the list (I don't know how many are out there already) with the exact track number for him/her. With the artwork and booklet ready it can be sent online to any U.S. EDA who can print it out and assemble the correct jewel case with the CD (or x number of CDs) burned at the end. It could be happilly accomplished with a good cooperation and organization process allowing each participating EDA to record themselves a 15, 20 or 30 salute with a deadline to give in the final file to the person whose duty is burn those files on CDs as long as a CD can hold 1.200 tracks and a CD player can actually play that amount of tracks... The recording of the files is left to the creative imagination of each EDA who is gonna take part of this special gift to Jewel. Allowing themselves to play a little tune, just say hi or congrat her good work so far. The burning process should be left to an U.S. EDA... I can do the burning process as well but the problem is that I live in ECUADOR (SouthAmerica) and it takes at least two weeks on current mail to get any package at the U.S. also I haven't tested a CD with 1.200 tracks on it and I don't know if a CD player can actually play so many tracks... if this is possible or not please let me know.. I know I can burn as many small tracks a CD can hold but I haven't seen a CD player tuning 1.200 tracks yet... if these number are unnacurate let me know how screwed up I've been so far. If this idea is ever considerated as everyone fav... we should hurry up coz the clock is ticking... we are running out of time guys... so what do you all think of this.. good/bad.. smart/dumb.. possible/impossible... it could be done along with the white elephant idea Rowdy already posted.... or with donations to her foundation (HGH) instead of just reading our names we could be listened by our lovely lady singer... let her know we support her and encourage her to keep on the great job she has done so far. I'm a proud EDA member despite everything wrong with the list.. I keep goin'... If you need any help just ask... If you want me to help you with the elephant thing I'm able to help (next week I'm kind of free)... It's up to you any reply regarding this matter... your EDA friend... So I don't think this was confirmed until very recently. When I posted my letter a couple days ago, that was pure coincidence I said what I did....I really didn't know she was going to be on, and no way did I know she would be performing solo. Maybe *she's* psychic! :-) So don't worry, no bubble was bursted over here.
