WOW!!! was jewel happy tonight or what!! there is NOTHING like seeing her sing and perform when she is so truely and obviously happy, theres no way you cant smile just watching her be so happy. did you guys see her expression on her face when she sang that someday song, when she sang the line "he loves his rodeo almost as much as me", did you see her face... it was like she was saying it about ty, though she nor garth wrote that song, judy collins did... i just thought it was neat cus you could see her relating to the song. her performance of ss was a lot more like it was when she did it at humphreys, she move and had fun!! damn she was sooooo happy!!! did anyone else notice that it said jewel on the back of her jacket! and i never looked hard enough at that particular belt buckle to see that it has a "j" on it! pretty cool stuff! and the sailor hat thing was sooo cool!! she just looked and sounded amazing... Now that she has sang with Garth, the whole idea/question "will she go country?" seems to be on alot of people's minds... Why now? I like Garth, and am not afraid to admit that several of his cds are in my collection. But, on the whole he is more of a pop country that gets played on radio now... Heck, he's even sung with KISS (and Billy Joel, and the list goes on) Why be afraid of that? Personally, I think that the people who dislike country should have been more afraid a couple of years ago when she appearred on Merle Haggard's double CD, and sang with him live. The Hag is old country (ya know, "my dog died, out of beer, my baby ran off with the garbage man, mama got run over by a train" sort of country) He was hopping trains and singing that style of country before Garth was a gleam in his dad's eye.With songs like: Okie from muskogee, Mama Tried, I Think I'll Just Stay Here and Drink, Pancho and Lefty, The Fighting Side of Me, I'm a Lonesome Fugitive, and albums titled "My Love Affair with Trains" Not to mention the Rodeo Whore shirt, going out with a cowboy, (and anyone that takes a plywood animal on tour to rope has to be country!) ya'll should have been scared a long time ago :-) hehehehehee... Rowdy PS (the plywood cow remark does not include Dennis... Dennis may be from texas, he may have carried a rope and cow to more jewel concerts than most EDAs have ever attended, but he does that because he is Harris, not country;-) and yes, that is the requisite Harris mention... just be glad I didn't bring up llamas, hotdogs, or something like that.... I also loved when she got on the sailor hat that on of the sailors threw at her, then she threw it back at him...but for me, I cracked up at the end when she was done singing with Garth, she went, got her guitar ,curtsy and walked away...
