Are you looking for a song that you've always liked, or a song that you feel Jewel could sing well and do justice to? For example, what if you liked "I will always love you" by Witney Houston, she shouldn't do that song because it's not her style and it wouldn't be her strong point and her sound that we love. I thought of a couple of possible funny songs though that would actually be cool to hear her sing, but I wouldn't recommend releasing it of course. Can you imagine Jewel putting her sound and a more modern twist to an old Go-Go's song like "Our Lips are Sealed"? That would be pretty entertaining. Or what about "I love Rock N' Roll" by Joan Jett. Can you honestly say that wouldn't be something to hear on pure entertainment value alone? She could do that song so damn good in a "Race Car Driver" -ish sound. A couple of other quick choices "Wild Thing", "Bye, Bye Miss American Pie" (I think it has a different name but I always forget), "The Rose" by Bette Midler, or maybe even "Crazy" by Patsy Cline would be fun to listen to at a concert as an in between song, you know what I mean? They're songs that she could sing well and that would go with her voice, but what's even better is because of her talent to update her sound I think she could bring new life to those types of songs. Just my opinion and I'll probably think of a bunch of other songs but for now I'll stick with those. Keith "The overly excited Yankee fan" (Just one more win and I can finally breath) "It's deja-vu all over again" - Yogi Berra (Seemed fitting since the Yankees made history twice in two nights) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 3 Nov 2001 15:30:05 EST From: Odin818@cs.com Subject: Re: [EDA] Fav actor/actress to lead a movie with Jewel and more!!!!... jack nicholson ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 3 Nov 2001 15:40:52 EST From: Fredsteve@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Z100 Hey Guys One of the best station we can target is New York's Z100 ... unfortunately they don't have any online request emails or websites.. so you have to call. Hey That part in the song This Way Where Jewels voice get really low really bothers me-- it just doen't seem natural I don't know. Do you know where I'm talking about? Did anyone else notice it? Also I love New Wild West-- but the instrumentation gets annoying towards the middle-- there's too much going on it gets confusing to listen to. I LOVE Jesus Loves you-- it's my favorite. I like Break Me acoustic way better. The live tracks aren't the best versions of the songs. I feel like Sometimes it be that way is better kinda fast and rocked out-- and this version is very slow, I feel like there is something wrong with the speed in my player-- but I soon realize that that's just how she's singing it. I like tha album a lot-- I feel like I can't listen to it with fresh ears because I know Jewel's music so well. I want to know what people think of it who don't know much about her unreleased material. I hope that this album is a huge success for her. I am e-mailing and calling stations everyday-- it's really important!!
