Wow that is really a feat. I haven't really been able to do that. To mike: Wow, great initiative. I am glad to see you give someone a cyber bitch slap. Ok here is my idea. We hold court. Mike is the plaintive, and he get to pick 3 witnesses to give ther accounts of Derricks assholeness. Derrick the defendant can post, and he can pick 3 witnesses to defend his position. They both post for 1 week with "Court" in the heading and at the end of the week all the eda's vote to keep Derrick on the list of give him the cyber boot. Come on guys this will be a historic event for the list. So Mike/Derrick what do you guys say? Suck it up, and lets do it!!!! Can I get this court motion 2nd? Anyway, I was wondering if there was a ever a list compiled of everyone's birthdays.. It must sound like I'm terribly bored, but I thought it sounded like fun. The Radio Angels '01 compilation is still being worked on, just kind of on hold while I wait to hear from those that can contribute (by the way, if any of you have interviews from this year that you'd like to contribute you can still email me!!) So if you want, just email me your name, email address and birthday (year optional of course, lol). I'll try to put it on a webpage or something, if you guys like the idea.. ** Only email me iyour info if you don't mind it being shown to the list ** (My little disclaimer) Take care, Heather HMN333@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 31 Oct 2001 11:36:55 -0800 From: "Elizabeth Nguyen" Subject: [EDA] Age thing Okay, Derrick. First thing. The number on Sheila's email means nothing. I have the number 31 on my email, but that does not mean I'm 31, or even close. I'm actually only 18 years old. Numbers are picked randomly in emails because the regular old email was already taken. Other times, the numbers mean something special. I picked 31 because it's my birthday, January 31. Second thing. The whole thing about her time inconsistencies. Many many people have inconsistencies to when they joined the list and when they first heard of Jewel. It's very hard to keep track of that. I've seen plenty of posts on the list where people have said they've liked Jewel for so and so years since they saw her on a certain show when the date of the show was actually more recent. Who cares? If they like Jewel, they can be on the list. It's hard to remember how long you've liked an artist. When someone asks me how I got into Jewel, I actually have to think about it. I can't tell them right off the bat because I want to tell them acurately how I discovered Jewel. Sometimes people just need to read posts and sort of take with a grain of salt. Right? That's the saying, right? Take them in stride ... you don't have to pick apart what they're saying, just get the gist of it. I don't know about the Sheila/Ciara thing. When I first read a post from "Ciara" I was a little skeptical. But then, I realized, I don't really care because I don't know her and it's just an email to a list. I had to delete dozens of those "age" emails because they didn't interest me. I also do that to emails that do not sound interesting to read. If this list bothers you so much Derrick, just leave. Or ignore the things that bother you. You can easily delete those emails. As for the rest of the list, Happy Halloween! That's the problem. I try to have fun, and all the party poopers fuss and rant over every little thing. The list isn't what it once was. 4 years ago I could have said the very same things I am right now, and it would be taken much less seriously and would probably yield a few other funny posts as well.
