Subject: [EDA] SS video Well I just saw the video for the first time on VH-1. It's on the Hits show, came on at 11:00 pm CST tonight. Upon seeing the first 10 seconds I couldn't stop thinking about another video I've seen several times by another artist...Tara MacLean. Those on her mailing list probably already know what I'm talking about. But for those of you who aren't familiar with her video for "If I Fall", then go to www.taramaclean.com and you'll see what I'm talking about. Go to the media section and watch the video for If I Fall. Right down to the oversized 70's -ish car even. Amazing. You'll need Quicktime player to play it. As for the song itself, since this was the 2nd time I heard it, I noticed some more things. That definitely sounds like a drum machine to me in the first part of the song. BUT, at the end, it sounds like real drums. There's a distinct change in the drum sound about half way through the song. Anyone else notice this? So it's possible some of the song was done electronically to offer the transition they were striving for by switching to real drums for the latter part...and also for the video scene of the band playing on stage together(with real drums). So it even fits the video concept. So Jewel wouldn't have been lying, technically, by saying they are real drums, even if it's just for only part of the song. I don't believe she specified how much or little of the song real drums were used....just that they were. Just a simple observation. :-) Go check out Tara's video now...the similarities are unbelievable.
