I almost didn't answer it, then figured I better...could be the president or something...hehe. Turned out it was just the local post office (the ..."postal service" portion of the ID got cut off) asking me about an item that came in the mail for me that had no return address on it. I guess they're really bucking down on things like that. If they didn't know me, I may have never received it they said. Anyway, just thought that was a little unusual. I noticed that people were posting about pictures about Jewel pics from MTV.com and TRL, but when I went on to the website it was nothing but aggravation and an over-abundance of annoying advertisement. All of it was for nothing when all I saw available was a photo booth image and even that didn't work. Has anyone else had this problem? Also I noticed, for a network or a company that has a guest on MTV doesn't show much love to Jewel. There were a couple of things that were evidence of this lack of support. First, her video wasn't even one of the choices for TRL, I had to put it in as "Other". Then, when I went to a search for Jewel and found her the only pictures they had were the photo booth thing but the page said it was old and couldn't be found anymore. I was working when they were showing the TRL episode with Jewel so I missed both chances. I wanted to see pictures or something from her visit(s) but I couldn't find anything. I bet if I typed in Britney Spears or N'Sync they would have entire sites dedicated to each of them. MTV is doing a great job of shrinking their demographic to ages 14-18. They keep this horrible display of music portrayal like they have been and they might as well call the station "Mostly 16". But I'm not bitter. . . Second, a heads up on this: AOL's Artist Of The Month feature went up this morning and it is full of mistakes. Dates for the next online chat are wrong and even the prize mentioned in the contest is wrong! (They mention The Today Show next summer as a prize, something apparently fabricated out of thin air, when it'll actually be a trip for two to NYC to see Jewel this December at one of the annual radio station Christmas concerts and other cool things.) Theres some fun stuff there now but they are in the process of correcting many mistakes, so I'd suggest checking it out on Monday or Tuesday when everything is corrected. If you do choose to check it out now, be aware much of it will change to correct info soon. I'll mention more about it in JeweLink on Monday since theres nothing time-sensitive. And for all the Australian EDAs, Jewel is flying in next week to begin promo over there and I'll let you know as much as possible on Monday. When engaged in international promo touring, often Jewel and the rest of us have no idea what exactly is planned for specific days. She's simply instructed to be in a particular city and then she's escorted to the various tapings by local reps and record company people. There's a lot of TV and radio planned, but much like it was here, only some of it will be broadcast live. The majority of it will be taped for broadcast the week the single is released. I do know the names of quite a few radio and TV programs she'll be doing, so I can help you know what to look for, but it'll really be up to you to take that info, do some research yourself and then let other EDAs know the specific information about stations and broadcast times.
