So, we have "Standing Still", "Love me just leave me alone", "Serve the Ego", "Brake me" and "Til we run out of the road" confirmed to be on This Way, right? Others with a probability of 98% of being on the album: "The new wild west", "I won't walk away", "Everybody needs someone sometime", "A long slow slide", "Does anyone believe in love". And what about "Angel needs a ride"? No more news about this one... Now, my predictions: - - The studio version of Serve the Ego will ROCK!! - - Does anyone believe in love will be the 1st song of the CD. - - I won't walk away will be the 2nd single. - - Standing still will get #1 at Billboard. - - The new wild west or Jesus loves you might be the 2nd song of the CD. It's enough, isn't it? Fabio - the Brazilian angel PS: I like Hands very much. I always did. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 Sep 2001 20:05:26 -0700 From: Uri Cancio Subject: Re: [EDA] so noone knows if Jewel will be on tonight? tonight there's a telethon that will be showm in every station , radio and TV, with all the biggest stars to raise funds for the NY tragedy, it will be aired from a undisclosed location in New York and also in L.A. A lot f musical acts will participate and I was just wandering why Jewel is not in it, since I think she would be super inspirational if she sang in it ... I'm really surprised that she's not in it..it will show from 900pm to 11pm in every channel there is... It just kinda weird when we know that Jewel is very giving and caring and that she wouldn't be involved in something like this, which by the way will show her face again to a lot of people that have forgotten her and help her with the new album... just my thoughts... Uri, sorry this doesn't help directly answer your question, but I thought I'd post it anyway. This is from the CBS site. Also, there could be a multitude of reasons Jewel is or is not there. I'm not sure it was a direct invitational gig, or something that a core group of "friends" started and kept pretty much in their circle. Who knows. I'll do some research with the various PR and agencies and see how this came about and let you all know. Also, my apologies cause I know the list it's about Jewel, but I just have to let this out. Just try to read it. I'm a latin American boy, currently living in my home country (Venezuela) who had the chance to live in the United States when I was 8 years old (my father is a military here, and had to attend the Academy Of The Americas in Georgia for 3 years). Opportunity that gave me the chance to experience a lot of new things (that were missing in my country back in 88, and still missing now in the new millennium), also the incredible influence that created some kind of "1st world country" mind and ideals within me, and finally the opportunity to study (in excellent schools btw, education in the USA its in my eyes, excellent, and though I was a kid, I remember it very well, cause I hold that close to my heart) there, and learn a different language, which I kept practicing over the years, and right now, it's far from perfect but I managed to keep it within me, in case of an uncertain future where it could be handy. I don't feel like I'm a USA citizen (or American's as you call yourselves, or the rest of the world does) and I don't pretend to be one. I tried to move to the USA back in 99, so I could study there in OHIO, but the USA embassy in Venezuela didn't felt like granting me the F1 Visa (who knows why, I'm still figuring it myself), but after failed attempts with the VISA process, I have to say that I held some grudges against the American people, just because I wasn't able or allowed to be there...I don't know, I guess I felt hurted and mmm.discriminated. But right now, I have to say I feel the deepest sympathy's for the country, and I can also say that those problems are behind me now. I wasn't able to be there, for a reason, perhaps I was meant to stay here at home, who knows.the point is, it's no longer an Issue. I guess what I wanted to say, almost in tears, is that I'm still shock, after 10 days from the attacks. In my mind there wasn't such horrible pictures, and such horrible nightmares, and in my heart there wasn't such a horrible sentiment (or feeling) as a whole that depress me every time I hear more news and every time I see some images about it. The numbers are devastating, thousand of people lost and presumed dead, a NY landmark destroyed, people being fired (the numbers from the airlines are horrible), people being stuck everywhere, people being tense about general issues, like security. It's just one of the most awful things I've seen in 20 years that I have. I have no words to express how bad I feel about this whole thing, and how bad I feel for every single person in NY and in the world that lost a loved one in the terrorist attacks. I have no words to express how bad I feel just imagining a 8yr old child without a father or a mom, or perhaps both. People all around the world feel affected by this, and though I didn't had a lost related to the tragedy, I feel that every human being that were there that day, are a part of me now, cause they are in my thoughts and in my prayers every single minute that goes by. I wish from deep inside my heart some peace of mind -hard to achieve- to everyone affected, I wish from deep inside my heart that you all have faith, cause the USA is a strong nation and will survive this, perhaps not in a near future, the recovery will be long, yes. but a recovery nonetheless. You've showed the world through the years, bravery, courage, a huge sense of a united mass that will not tolerate anything that goes against your beliefs, that and much more. My prayers will always be with you, and in my heart, all the lives that were lost, will always be remembered. I wish you all Joy and Happiness, and luck in case of a war. I'm sorry this took so long, I just had to let this out.I wrote three poems, I would like to share them with you, My deepest Love, Antonio. Childish Hopes I burn like a candle, and my feelings melt everytime I see, A child with hopes out there In every gun we fire, in every soul that goes down, a childish hope inside of me, melts down and the hopeless and desperation feelings reborn. In every war out there, people think they have a 'victory', a million souls we lose, a million smiles we gain, but in the end... we all lose in this twisted game. A child out there hopes, for him to have the power, the power of love to change, all the wars out there. Now I ask, To All Humanity, Will this remain beeing...Just a Childish Hope as my heart grows old? Antonio Miquilena, 2001. The Path of extinction In A Lonely Path I walk, darkness fills the room dreams always shattered they simply leave a wound I used to know the world I used to feel alive my emotions are so dead who can bring them back? The Only Dream I had for me to change the world when a sudden afternoon someone closed the door We tend to just destroy that's the way I feel when I turn around and see the world where I exist Nations so apart Countries in wars A million of diseases, that simply kills our kids The Shadow ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Sep 2001 00:14:01 +0000 From: "Charles Gregory" Subject: Re: [EDA] letterman i TOTALLY agree with you!!!
