Specific greetings to international EDAs flying in for the San Diego concerts this weekend. We welcome you of course, but folks from the J-Team would also enjoy chatting with you. We don't have anything specific planned, but we've been filming fan footage lately, including several EDAs in Nashville, and we'd enjoy interviewing those of you who care to be interviewed. Otherwise, we'd simply enjoy meeting you. All EDAs are welcome to visit and if time permits, we'd enjoy interviewing others as well. Our basic plan is to meet up with you around 1:30-1:45 in the early afternoon prior to Sunday's show. We'll meet you in the parking lot behind the Humphrey's Backstage Club area. I also hope to be hanging out at Java Joe's on Saturday night (for Lisa Sanders Band) and some of the Alaska Festival sets going on around the venue before and after the Jewel concerts on Sunday and Monday. The singer/songwriter has "completed the recording process" and has entered "final mixing stages," according to an e-mail newsletter sent to fans by her management company, which also listed the possible title. The album, due November 13, is also listed as This Way on Atlantic Records' release schedule, according to the label. A single from the album is due in October. Dann Huff (Faith Hill, Megadeth) produced most of the album, an Atlantic spokesperson said. Producers and songwriters involved with Jewel's disc said last month that she had written "dangerous-sounding" tracks that range from blues-rock and bossa nova to loop-driven hard pop (see "Jewel Cutting 'Dangerous' Tracks For Next Record"). Possible tracks include "Love Me Just Leave Me Alone," "Serve the Ego," "Shadows Play" and "Jesus Loves You," although no track listing has been confirmed yet. Subject: [EDA] NJC: Lynn Casper - EDA again! Hey everyone...I know the subject of this may sound a bit strange, but here's what's up. About 4 years ago (guessing) I met Lynn *somehow* online. I don't recall if it was from this list or not, but I don't suspect it was. Anyway, we chatted off and on for awhile for a few months I believe, then lost touch for no particular reason. A few days ago I was messing with ICQ since I haven't in years (literally), and saw her name on the list still, so I just wrote to say "hi" basically, not even knowing if she was still on it or not. Not only did she reply, but when she did I also noticed in her profile that she said she had lots of Jewel tapes to trade for anyone interested. Obviously this caught my attention, so we struck up a conversation about Jewel, and this list. Well come to find out, she WAS on this list a few years ago, I think around 1996-1997 or so. It's a complete coindence though, because I really don't remember ever knowing she was an EDA when we use to talk. So we talked some more about Jewel, the EDA's, etc. and come to find out, she's seriously into guitar playing now, has her own website, CD demo for sale, has played several gigs, and even has her own merchandise for sale. It's not anything like you'd see for a major label artist, but considering she's done the majority of this all on her own, it's pretty amazing. She also mentions Jewel as an influence in her bio. :-) Not only this, but as of today, she has once again joined the EDA list! Woohoo! lol I've heard a few or her MP3's so far (which can also be found on her site), and I really like them.
