Heya EDA's, It's been quite a while since I've posted, but then again I haven't had much newsworthy to say. Anyhow, I've got an extra ticket to see Jewel Mon. Aug. 20 if anybody wants it. It's 11th row right in the center. My friend won't be able to go and I don't want to waste it. I figured I'd let another EDA go for free so that they can enjoy how wonderful she is. I can't think of any easy way to do this, so I propose this. Email me with "Jewel ticket" in the subject line. I'll have a folder set up so that it filters all my emails into it. In a couple of days, I'll check my mail with a number in mind and just count down from the top of my inbox and pick an email. Hi well, last night I was one of the few people who got to see the Madonna concert here in South FL at a decent affordable price... before i tell you about the show, let me tell you how I got there... since I decided last month that I rather see Jewel in Central Park than see Madonna in my own back yard, I knew I was going to go, the Madonna thing was something from childhood...she was like Britney or Christina are to a 12 year old girl right now, when, unless you are an old soul and are very wise, but I was 12 back then and I always wanted to see her live...so know that I 'm an adult with a lot more wisdom and more spiritual that when I was 12 , I enjoy Jewel more 'cause I identify with her, plus you have to be deaf to not know that she has one of the most glorious natural voices of our time, not to mention her awsome and inspiring lyrics... But....I had to see Madonna so satisfy my inner child that wanted to see her...anyway, the day before yesterday I was at work and instead of doing my duties I was goofing off on the internet and just for fun I wanted to see if the $7,000.00 front row tickets to the 2 Madonna shows in Miami when down ....they did, they went down to $2,500.00 , but at the same time, by some freak accident of nature, I stumbled upon 2 tickets on the lower section with a side/rear view of the show for only $35 .00 above the original price, (total about $125.00) , but since I don't have more credit cards ( another novela, not important right now) (( novela : spanish/latin for soap opera or novel)) , I knew that I could still not go, but I spoke out loud from my executive cubicle and another co-worker heard me and told me to show her.., I did, and she pulled out her Credit Card and voila! ,(I can pay her in 4 installments!!! how broke am I??) we got the tickets fedex overnight and we went yesterday, I still coudln't believe that my broke ass , after going to New york, The Hamptons ( now you see why I don't have anymore Credit Cards?? (yes , I'm seeing a therapist) :) was going to see the hottest act in the world...must be fate....I believe that when things are going to happen for you, they happen no matter what. it's destiny. Anyway.... the show: Amazing, it's like going to a Broadway musical,Cirque du Soleil, something abstract yet live in your face , but....even my friend , who's not a music person and mother of 4 noticed the same thing I did, Madonna it's like so not personal, she doesn't reach out and touch the audience , she only talked two times during the whole 2 hour show, once to say that Miami it's a town that she got into a lot of shit in the past, "what else is there to do in Miami??" she said, and another to tell a guy in the front audience that totally looked like someone dragged him there, to get his ass up and dance/enjoy the show like the rest of the other people...she did her country thing, she played the acoustic guitar for about 4 songs, even had a mechanical bull , and she "rode it" very well.... she even did a couple of my teenage years songs like "Holiday" and "La Isla Bonita" but still, I felt empty, no connection, nothing ...here I was in this multimillion production , with very good seats and felt like I was watching a video at home. I love music, every type, modern, alternative, pop, classical, latin, european,asian,folk, country, etc.. and I have never felt nothing from a show until last night..madonna it's a wonderful artist, she's very creative, very perfectionist, but I didn't feel her passion, I didn't feel her , it was like a job she had to do, like an office job or something, not a vocation...she didn't even tell the people on the nosebleed seats ( this place it's huge!) anything, like "how you doing up there?" nothing...at the end of the show, all the screens showed "the end": no "great to be here" thanks for coming" nothing... that's my review...see what you think on HBO on the 26th live from Detroit... she might be a little more..connected? so , I got what I paid for, my inner child is gone riding a bike off somewhere and me, I love Jewel's music more than ever..thank God for her and others like her..I love been real..
