Hey everyone! I was just curious to know what songs everyone would like to see on her next album. I for one would LOVE to see Break Me and Rosy and Mick, possibly even Lemondrops and Clover on the CD. Anyone else? Hey folks, Just returned from Nashbash late last night, and am still glowing (although that may be as much from the two and a half hours waiting in the sun as the tremendous cameradarie!). It was a delightful time I will always treasure. As everyone else who has posted has mentioned, Jewel was in great form, and if her voice wasn't 100 per cent recovered, it was more than compensated for by the casual, intimate and affectionate delivery of her performance. As you've read in the set lists, the concert was a beautiful and generous balance of new, unheard material, some of her best known work, and many treats that were custom-selected for EDA's. I don't recall if anyone else mentioned it, but the event as a recording session was very unintrusive. Mostly small hand held cameras that were never in the way for anyone in the audience, from what I could observe. It seemed to be first and foremost a concert for us, which was being taped; not a taping that we as the audience had to work our way around. I want to echo so many of the other posts by saying how integral to the whole magic of the event was the opportunity to again meet with other EDA's. It was genuinely wonderful to again see many of the people I've known for a long time now, but haven't seen in too long a period of time. I was also particularly privileged to spend so much time with Larry Greenfield, who is not only a friend of mine - I am proud to say - but truly a friend of everyone on this list. It was equally great to meet a whole bunch of new folks, and share the excitment with those who were seeing Jewel live for the first time. It was amazingly revealing to get the reaction of the "first-timers" after the show, all of whom responded identically to my question "What was the highlght for you?" None of them pointed out a specific song. "It was just Jewel. Just the way she was talking to us...." Yup, you've got it. The last, but probably the most important part, of this post is this. I don't think any of us can fully grasp what Alan had to go through to make this event possible for us. I felt like I was jumping through hoops just to make my arrangements for me. I figure if I multiply that by, oh, about two million, I approach the level of activity that Mr. BB must have gone through, to arrange this in such a short period of time, not once, but TWICE! He handled all of this with remarkable efficiency, unflagging enthusiasm and good humour in circumstances that would have crushed a lesser man. (He was still getting requests for changes of guests the day of the show. Yoikes.) Mr. BB said in his post-concert message a little earlier that Nashville rules! But my friends, no one in Nashville ruled like he did, and if Jewel herself had to match her performance with Alan's, she'd still be singin'! Here's to you, Mr. BB. I NEED ALL THE HELP I CAN GET! Hey Angels, I just got the Carolyn Dawn Johnson album "Room With A View" and it is soooooooooooo much to me like something Jewel would do. There is a song on there that I think you all should check out. It is called Masterpiece, and to me it is kinda like painters. It is a story of a couple and it is sooooo good I HIGHLY recommend it! Also, for those of you who went to Jewel's concert. Can any of you tell me what her new songs were like. I mean are they kinda rockier or are they slow or more countryish? I just wanna know how it is all going. I am getting so excited for the new album. Another thing, back a while ago someone said Jewel was going to have a new song on a cd with various artists. Well I just wanna know when is taht going to be released and what is it called???? PLEASE HELP me on these questions!!! Thanks angels! Charlie PS. In the pics on Jewels website this week they all look like they are from music videos. The only one I do not recognize is the one that has the all green background and she is holding a guitar. Does anyone know where this is from???? ALSO is there any news on when Jewel's first song will be released on the radio, or first single? Does anyone know what song that will be? If her cd is complete then why does it have to wait until nov 13th to be released??? PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY QUESTIONS I JUST HAVE TOO MANY. even if you just know the answer to one, please write me and let me know anyways-- THANKS SO MCUH GUYS! LOVE YA ALL!!!!!! _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 7 Aug 2001 15:29:05 -0400 From: "Amanda" Subject: Re: [EDA] Nashbash, and Mr. BB rules! Jewel Kilcher (i'll put my own input and explain a little bit afterwards) 4th LEVEL MATURE SOUL - -well a fourth level soul (at any soul age) is the 'full steam ahead' level. They've done their contemplation for a life or two and now it's time to get out in the world and change it according to their version...mature souls in general have a tendency to be very emotional and stuff (for more on soul ages go to http://www.michaelteachings.com/soul-ages.html there's so much to say about this stuff, but i'll just say a little for each one ARTISAN ROLE IN ESSENCE - -artisans are delicate, airy, vulnerable, unearthy, dreamy, highly creative, artistic, musical, fluid, and flexible, actors, dancers, fine artists, fasion models, carpenters, architects, musicians, poets, etc. ...see more on this on the overleaves chart http://themichaelteaching.com/overleaves.html GOAL OF ACCEPTANCE - -open to things that come to them, want to love everyone and be loved by everyone. ...again see the http://themichaelteaching.com/overleaves.html if your confused PASSION MODE - -bubbly, full of life, vital, enthusiastic, animated, stage actors, comedians, musicians, bon vivants CHIEF FEATURES (the fear based flaw that almost everyone has) - -Impatience: daring, tries to do too many things in a short amount of time, hates to be late for anything, intolerant, greatest fear is of missing out on something - -Martydom: selflessness, missionary zeal, dies for a cause, can make others feel guilty, greatest fear is of being victimized or taken advantage of by others IDEALIST ATTITUDE - -i'll steal this one right from the overleaves chart: Look "I can be more than I am". More intellectually enthusiastic--mood swings from disappointment--like to look right at you--forward thinking--likes to manipulate situations to get things "how they should be". EMOTIONALLY CENTERED W/ INTELLECTUAL PART - -emotionally centered people are compassiotate, empathetic, sympathetic, vulnerable. They feel what you feel...obviously important in jewel's songwriting...with the intellectual part they funnel their emotions through their thoughts, enjoying writing or talking about personal crisis. - -troy also mentioned jewel has priest (third role in essence) casting and a lot of priestly imprinting as well of course you can take this for whatever you want...you can think it's completely stupid and erase it...but i thought i'd share the info!! see ya! tom the 'cactus angel' if you more on this stuff you can go to my page http://tippasaurus.tripod.com/tippasaurus/id9.html or if you want more celebrity overleaves there at http://www.itstime.com/famous.htm ps. hope you all had a great time at nashville, wish i had come!
