I hope the Nashville selection discussion has cooled off by now... Anyway, I just had to say that whatever the selection process was, it is quite obvious that it was a fair one, and the more fair to me seems the "first come, first serve" one. Congratulations to the people invited, enjoy this amazing opportunity, because it's really very special. I can imagine how it could be... just perfect... so let us thank Jewel and the J-Team for considering us the EDAs before anyone else, as remember they could have send the invitations to the members of JeweLink which is Jewel's official news mailing list. Antonio, it nice to see you around again. We need to catch up and yes, Jewel should definetely come to South America. I know she won't be coming to Peru, so I will difinetely have to travel if she comes around here (perhaps Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Chile). We need to work on this, the SAEDAs list has grown considerably, but no one writes, not even the new members! It is as people are suscribed just for the idea of it, but not to participate, but I guess it is because there is no much Jewel buzz right now, but you have to help me okay... you too Fabio if you are reading this! It's funny, because I was reading your email and I thought we should combine to be one person. See, you don't have a VISA to the USA, and I have one that expires in about 8 years. Then, you have the money and the age to travel alone and stay in a hotel... I can get the money, but I can't travel alone, no way, I'm 17 and my mom works a lot so I can't go with her :( Besides, the concert is in Nashville, and it is not too touristic orientated and I know very little info about the place as to plan a whole trip in less than a week! Well, I was going to go to the Vermont concert :( It seemed so likely to happen... I was going to stay in New York and visit it and then go to the concert in Vermont. It was perfect: Jewel Solo Acoustic, kind of intimate concert and travelling is always fun! But unfortunately my trip had to be cancelled... I hope to see Jewel live in Solo Acoustic in an intimate venue here in Peru, but the only chance of seeing her in such a way is if she comes to do charity here and does a benefit concert in the capital, Lima! Well, I hope that Jewel continues to do Solo Acoustic concerts they are absolutely great (from what I've heard in recordings). By the way, Antonio, I have some Solo Acoustic concerts from 2000: Cerritos, CA and Stockton, CA. Also a band concert from 2000: Mission Viejo Riding Park, San Juan Capistrano. E-mail me if you are interested. I guess postage costs from Peru to Venezuela must be cheaper than from the USA to Venezuela! This e-mail is getting really long... I was saving money to see Jewel live, but then my school invited me to participate in a Student Exchange to King's School in Canterbury, England this January, so I guess bye-bye trip to the US. Although I would love to see Jewel live, the student exchange is something I've always dreamt for and an opportunity I just can't help pass by... Any EDAs in King's School or in Canterbury? Well, take care everyone... thanks to those that read my email, it's really nonsense I think... Oh, Antonio, is Ride With the Devil going to premiere at the cinema in Venezuela? Because it is going to in Peru!!! If not, then I guess Brazil and Peru will be the only countries where it was shown. But she has a lot of fans in Peru, I think... YWMFM is sometimes passed in the radio, and considering that I don't call to request it is a positive point ('cause someone else is calling!) It's funny the thing with that song... It's more than 4 years old and it still being passed... GO JEWEL!!!! Well, now I must really go, it's too late. Bye EDAs, although I don't know you very well I like being on the list because of the different points of view... and don't mind the fighting anyway, it's just something that inevitably happens, just try to be cool about it... and, anyway, it would be kind of boring without some little tiny meaningless arguing, don't you think? Well, any EDA is free to e-mail me, I usually check my e-mail very frequently, take care, Mirko South American Everyday Angel Member *angel from Peru* P.S. I moved from Nashville to San Diego, December 31st, 1998. I lived on 17th ave. Right on Music Row. Alan Jackson owned the house beside me and Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings owned the next couple. You gotta have a house on Music Row as a publishing house. Gotta do that to be cool. Anyway, for you songwriters and singers, here are of a couple of places to Jam. I have played at quite a few of them myself. Enjoy! I disagree! We also have a couple of new performers that are going to knock your socks off! These performers round out our roster and we will be accepting no further performers. Counting both stages, we have bout 14 hours of music from some of San Diego's hottest bands leading up to Jewels concert at 7:30. As of this morning there are still 31 EDAs who were invited who have not sent in their RSVP or canceled. Invitees must RSVP to be put on the guest list, otherwise they cannot attend. If you were invited, please follow your RSVP instructions in the invitation. If you were invited but now know you cannot attend, please have the courtesy to cancel your reservation. We would like to give the EDAs on our waiting list a chance to attend if you or your guest aren't able to do so. Everyone is working under tight time restrictions here and we need your consideration on this. I'll be monitoring the RSVP/Cancellation account today and tonight, but at midnight tonight east coast time, your invitation confirmation ability is over and that account will be terminated. Invitees who have RSVPed and received their confirmation by then will comprise the final EDA guest list. We will then be unable to make any additional changes as we're off to Nashville ourselves, without computers or email until after the concert is over. This has been a fascinating project (as always) and it's sure to be a great time for all who attend. As with anything we've ever done with The EDAs, a few people are unhappy and even angry with us, but for the most part, everything went well, in my opinion. At the time of the original deadline, we only had 64 replies, so we were concerned whether this could even work, but there's a great group of people already confirmed to attend and I hope the invitees waiting until the last minute, get it together today. I look forward to meeting a lot more of you in Nashville, MrBB ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V6 #306 ***************************
