I don't see you dying ? Are you missing some air ? Can't you breathe ? Because so far, all I can see is a boy pissed, not a boy in some kind of danger. Yes, I understand how you must feel, and perhaps the process of selecting the 100 EDA's did not seemed unfair, but I would like to know how would you feel now if the email was in your Inbox, you wouldn't have complains, you wouldn't be pissed, you will be happy and perhaps feeling sorry for the ones that were not invited. But that's not the case, and you did not got invited, so you simply start rambling about the selection process, making it sound like Jewel is fucking up with people....let me tell you my concept of appreciation.... Jewel DOES not have, and I repeat DOES NOT HAVE any sort of obligation towards you nor everybody else on this list, that said, we should feel BLESSED, that she takes US into consideration, and with a pure and kind heart invited 100 of the fans in this list, and 100 guests to go into a PRIVATE CONCERT, so she someway returns all we've done for her, and all the love we feel for her, but again, she is not doing it because she is obligated, she is doing it because she wants to, from the heart, so I won't stand you nor someone else on this list, to sit and write a full email with prejudices and judging Jewel intentions within the range of the concert thing. Instead of being so bitchy about it, you should feel blessed, because you have -I don't know you, but I'm sure you have seen her somewhere- the important advantange of living in the United States. Guess what ? I don't. I would love to see her live, ANYWHERE, ANYHOW, I don't care if I have to pay $1000 for a ticket, HELL I WOULD, I have the money to pay that, and a hotel anywhere. But my simple problem is, that the freaking USA embassy does not feel safe, giving a VISA to a Latin American Young boy -like If I was a drug dealer or a terrorist that is going to bomb the white house- so I can pack and go to any concert of Jewel. I got the email, I didn't reply, because I do have the money, but I don't have the visa, so that cutted my chances instantly. But that's my simple problem, in the other hand, you did not got invited, but she tours the states everytime she releases a CD, she does concert in pro of good causes, so yes, you didn't got invited (for free), but I'm sure in a future you can pay and see her live some other time, not like me, that I have to wait a million years before she thinks about touring somewhere around me or before the embassy gives me a VISA, so if you can't pay in a future, I would give you the money gladly if you quit bitching, and all the drama can go away. Cause I had it. My simple words for those lucky ones, is that go, and have a fabulous time, as much as you can ! Because again, I know it's going to be a hell of a concert, and yes, I know I don't post often, and I know people don't know who the hell I'm, and I also know I was a tad pissed in my last post for her not touring latin america, but I realized she must have a good reason for it, and I'm holding on to that, because I know I will see her live one day...and god only knows how much I've been wanting that since 95. She is and will be my favorite artist of all times, because she've earned that position in my life, with her love, her music, and the subtle touch she have in each and every single one of us. WE ARE ALL LUCKY to be able to enjoy her music, no matter where, no matter how, so if you don't got invited, don't worry, have some patience, another opportunity will rise, this concert does not define your future nor should modify the affection you feel for the artist. This is only to prove us that we the EDA'S matter to her, and she is showing it to us... one more time. P.D: Again, if anyone talks to her during the show or after, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee -I'm begging- let her know that fans in Latin American with NO VISA (damn embassy) are dying to see her live...and I mean that with every inch of my heart. Thank you all for the time, again my apologies -language and grammar- Antonio Miquilena South America Every Day Angels. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Jul 2001 04:13:16 -0400 From: "Antonio Miquilena" Subject: [EDA] (SAEDA) Lighter Note In a lighter note, after I got upset over the Selection process deal :)....I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to help this unfortunate latin american boy, with some new and decent in quality angelfood from the 00 and 01 shows or perfomances she've done. The person this particular post aboive is directed at did NOT even apply to go to the show. He just posted his opinions on the possible unfairness of the selection process and his thoughts that "the EDAs deserve to know" how the 100 were selected. But well worth the effort, I'm sure! I'm going to bed now, but here's the three answers to the three burning questions: 1. Steve Poltz is the opener for Jewel at Riley Rink next month. Whoever printed up Wallflowers' concert tickets that same night elsewhere, that had Steve as the support act, made a mistake. (This info is on Jewel's website calendar, by the way.) 2. The oh so devious process that was bothering voices of doom: Every EDA who followed the reply instructions to the private concert announcement by the original deadline was invited. After that, replies were put on a secondary list and first come first served. For every cancellation, a new invitation goes out from the secondary list. That simple. 3. As far as photo ops go after the private concert, lets just see how it goes. Things like that happen when its comfortable. Sleepy byebye... MrBB ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Jul 2001 10:47:25 -0400 From: "Connell, Michael P" Subject: [EDA] Important reminder to all Nashville invitees & guests I just want to remind all people going to the Jewel show this Monday in Nashville. Be careful what you post to the main EDA/Jewel@smoe list in regards to the venue or places nearby. The J-team and people in charge of this event wish to keep this as secret as possible for a variety of good reasons. A post that mentions any landmarks, hotels, motels, theatres etc as being close to the venue where Jewel is playing will give away clues as to what place the venue may be. It's all in the best interest of everyone involved, attendees included, that this "private concert" remain just that, private. It makes for a much more relaxing event for all involved. On a similar note, once I even had to hold back a "play a joke on you all" post in regard to Jewel's appearance on MTV Cribs with the fear it might reveal exactly where her house is. (i.e. No reason to post it or obvious clues on a 2,000 subscriber mailing list). More on that later, it would have been a great joke post (I think).
