The rarest item I have is probably a lightbox poster for Pieces of You that I got when the album came out when I was working at Best Buy. It's approx. 6 x 6 square, of the album's cover. Quite sturdy and heavy, but looks nice on a wall and keeps well. Also, since they're meant for light to come through, most are too dark to really be nice hangings, but since the cover of PoY is so light, it works great. I saw her open for Peter Murphy and liked her so much I bought her album the next day. Then when the promo poster had served its purpose, I got to take it home. Good times. A rare POY promo poster. Hard to describe, but it's more of an earthy natural colored poster. I got one online. Never seen one since. Anyone else have this? I would guess 2 other EDA's may have gotten the other 2. I believe it's circa 1995.> Oops, I forgot about this one. I have one of these (small promo poster with some text and a faded-looking photo). Unfortunately, I had to pay a small fortune to get my hands on one. I am pretty sure this was Jewel's first promo poster for POY and I'm sure it's incredibly rare. The poster reads: "Hommage to home...for the sweat of my father and the tough nails that broke his heart...for the sun on our backs and the water on our brows...the heat on our minds...for the silent miles of dirt roads...our eyes busy reading the signs (on the days we took the car)...for bad meals turned good by hunger, everything beautiful in the red hot heat of our coal stove...for an honest sleep in an old bed in an old house built of hand and log...(had nothing been said all day?)" For as long as Scott has posted on this digest, and even runs his own Jewel site. I hope your really kidding when you say, "You haven't seen Jewel Live". What could have possibly made you miss the last 5 years of touring? What's you story. I want to know. I've only seen Jewel twice and I feel deprived!! I know some EDA's that saw jewel like 40 times, during 95-97. I'm still working on my time machine to see those early shows i missed. LOL!!! ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Jun 2001 21:28:21 -0400 From: "Scott Evans" Subject: Re: [EDA] Missed Jewel shows <> Kind of ironic, isn't it? Well I'm only 15 years old.. I've liked Jewel for 6 years; I got her CD for Christmas in 1995.. I became a fan after seeing her on VH1 Duets with my sister's favorite artist, Melissa Etheridge.. I didn't really think of going to see her, or anyone else, live until a couple of years ago.. I was going to go see her during the Spirit Tour, but she didn't come close enough to my town for me to get there, and she didn't attend the last year of Lilith, so I didn't see her then.. Hopefully I'll get the chance this year.. :-) scott.evans [[crazy is just YOU and ME. AMPLIFIED.]] AOL IM: sevans112 . Yahoo! The EDA Posters. The original run was of 120 Posters, which I have made available to EDAs at less than my cost. There were 60 cardboard ones and 60 paper ones (which are easier to ship). All of the paper ones are gone, but I have about 15 of the cardboard ones left, in anyone is interested. e-me directly if you would like one. - -=-Larry-=- > I'm partial to the EDA cardboard poster that Larry Greenfield made a few > years > ago.. - -------------------------------------- Ah yes!!! I KNEW I left something else out! :-) I think these are extremelly rare as well. Anyone know how many were made? Also, what about the original EDA Cover tape? Yeah that's not Jewel directly related, but still sort of. :-) Derrick ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Jun 2001 00:18:18 EDT From: MandyP311@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Mix 93 Jewel Pictures Hi.. on Mix 93's website there are three pictures of Jewel from the KC Concert on Saturday night. During Jewel's Spirit tour, when the show was over, Jewel threw her guitar pick out into the sea of people in front of her. Before I knew what had happened, I felt something bang off my chest. I looked down and snatched up the pick. Eric Levenchuck wrote: > Derrick W. Karacostas wrote... > > <4. A rare POY promo poster. Hard to describe, but it's more of an earthy > natural colored poster. I cut out the non-Jewel related material... "Jewel, alone with guitar, followed Richie with a short set. The best part was "Who Will Save Your Soul?" a song that has improved with age. The worst: her warp-speed yodels, which made her sound like an orgasmic Yoko Ono." scott.evans [[crazy is just YOU and ME. AMPLIFIED.]] AOL IM: sevans112 . Yahoo!
