Hola everyone, I apologize for taking so long in getting back on this matter...Kyriana was briefly hospitalized over what amounted to just be a scare and nothing substantial. :) I was wondering if June 16th (which as it turns out is the last weekend) would be a good day for a run to the Faire. We'll be gone to Northern California from the 4th to the 10th on vacation so Kyriana can meet her Grandparents and & Great-Grandma :) I need a little notice so I can arrange for the discounted tickets ($12) :) Sonja and I would also be willing to organize a tailgate BBQ/picnic for lunch if anyone is interested. Leonard Cohen: An amazing and prolific songwriter. You simply must hear his music, even Jewel takes a bow to this god amoung men. Do a search for Leonard Cohen and you will find him.(He wrote "The Future" in Natural Born Killers, "Bird on a Wire" I believe was in Thelma and Louise, "If it be your Will" was in "Pump up the Volume" with Christian Slater and Wynnona Ryder. Leonard has such a way with words, the way he says things is just amazing. 2 Pink Floyd (My all time fav band) 3. Niel Young:( My boy Neil!) 4.Al Dimiola (Legendary Jazz Guitarist, viewed by many as the greatest in the world) 5.Larry Mitchel ( I call him "My own personal Al Dimiola" Larry is a friend who just happens to be one of the best guitarists in the world. He has toured and performed with Tracy Chapman, Billy Squire and quite a few others. He is also a producer with quite a reputation. He helped me with the final mastering of my "Dream of Love" album and I am proud to have his name on my record. Sadly to say, Larry has now moved to New York to produce records for the big boys. All that remains here in San Diego is a garage full of his stuff at my friend Igors house. If you get a chance to hear him in NY, he is a must see! 6. Bob Marley 7. Qeensryche (Partied with Micheal Wilton at Sharkys in PanameCity Fla.!) Honorable Mentions: Metallica, Guns and Roses, Gregory Page ( Cant have a fav list without my boy!) Last but not least, Carlos Olmeda also kicks my ass. That is certainly not all the music I like, but I will quit now. PS, If you stiill havent gotten your reservations for the Jewel Fans Gathering/Music Fest Aug 19th and the Afterparty with Gregory Page on the 20th at Humphreys, let me know, and I will add you to the list.We now have about 100 reservations and about 12 Bands/Performers! I'll post more info on this soon. Later Folks! As the MTV Movie Awards are approaching, MTV is carrying a vote of the best 5 performances in the MTV Movie Awards of all time, and we want Jewel's Foolish Games performance to win because, as you all know, it was AMAZING!! The instructions are simple, even if you don't know Spanish: 1. Go to www.mtvla.com 2. First is asks you to select your country. Just choose any country from the list. 3. Then, it will take you to an index page. Click on the "TOP5i" link in the right frame of the page. 4. Go at the bottom of the page and click on "VOTA" to vote! 5. You will be taken to the voting page. 6. In the firts space it asks you to select the artist (it says "selecciona artista / banda"). Choose Jewel. 7. In the second space it asks you to select a category (it says "selecciona una categoria"). Choose Movie Awards. 8. In the third space it asks you for the name of the song. Type Foolish Games. - --THAT IS IT--- the spaces that follow I think are optional, so do them if you want. They ask you for personal information... Please help by getting Jewel to be better known around South America, because she isn't too much yet...
