I don't really want to send a check through mail but I will if I can't get the online donation to work. Also, do I get a receipt (for tax returns). Thanks! Um, is this lenedra.com? No offence, but I'd rather see pix of Jewel than Nedra! No offence, again, but her mom seems kinda weird. Like, she kinda rules her. I dunno but she reminds me of my friends mom and I hate her mom. She's really ruling and Nedra kinda reminds me of her. I don't know Nedra so I can't say anything but she seems like she rules her. Just my opinion so let's not fight! I just don't know her well and I was just stating my opinion. She seems nice, tho... Anyways, I would just rather see Jewel pix... I'm on my school newspaper and we sometimes get little press kits from various artists and movies so that we can review them. Well, the other day, we went through our old stuff and watched the music videos for fun. Then, on one video, the title on the bottom read "at the Bearsville recording studio" and I see this blonde chick walking in the woods. And for a split second, I thought, OMG, it's Jewel. Hehe, of course it wasn't. But it was Shelby Starnar. She's actually quite talented .. she writes her own music, plays the guitar and piano and is rather young. The video was when she was 14 or so. She sounds like a cross between Alanis Morissette and I dunno ... maybe Tori Amos "Little Earthquakes" era and a maybe little Nelly Fertado without the nasal-ness... not really .. blah, I don't know what I'm talking aobut ... but I love the song "You" from her album "From the Shadows." Check her out guys ... ~Elizabeth Angel who really doesn't know how to describe Shelby Starner's style and sound ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 May 2001 22:54:33 EDT From: W1GGY2@aol.com Subject: [EDA] NJC: of sand & margaritas From the "better late than never" department, here is my report on the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta/Beach cleanup weekend.... We arrived to find the beach far more trashed than usual, unfortunately. However, when we left it was 54 trash bags-worth cleaner! It was definitely a record for us. Most interesting items found were 32" television (smashed, of course), 12 8-track tapes, and my personal favorite....a $2 lottery ticket where you can "win cool Spam merchandise"!! If that's not an oxymoron, I don't know what is. :-) The sad news is we collected 1130 glass (mostly beer) bottles. After the cleanup it was back to the Campbell's for Playstation 2 gaming as well as a little Bocce Ball & chair roping and then the Fiesta, complete with Mariachi music and sombrero's. The Pig with Wings pinata, appropriately dubbed Pigasus by Bill (I believe) was hilariously beaten to death by blindfolded, if not slightly drunken EDAs. Tiffany was especially barbaric, knocking a wing off the poor beast almost immediately but it was a slow death and at least 7 of us got to have a go at it before it emptied its contents. Candy and prizes were scooped up mainly by Kat and Ahmetia but I think the adults managed to get some, too. "Locals" were ALMOST outnumbered by the out-of-towners, but it turned out to be 11-9 so maybe next time. Tom and Rachel O'Brien even stopped by to show off their wedding pictures. Sunday, we sucked my friend Dhyana, who hasn't played a video game since she was 12, into the Playstation and she became nearly unbeatable at Tekken. We were finally able to drag ourselves from the game in order to go to Funmania for more games! We played a round of mini golf and some video games, then went dinner at Denny's (naturally!). Thanks to everyone who came and hope to see all of you next time! Just an FYI! > > > > ~Rachel~ > > The perfectionist angel And to add to that i think at that same time i read that Nedra's middle name is Jewel i also read that so is Jewel's grampa's middle name. I read it a while ago but its one of those useless pieces of info that stick in your head. lol so the name has survived 3 generations i believe. ** an interesting side note** when i read i that i thought how weird to name your kid Yule Jewel Kilcher... it was months later when i realized i had the wrong grampa obviously it would have came from Nedra's dad not Atz's lol!
