I know Jewel only performed about 12 shows that year. I've got 3 of them so far. Somebody has got to have the other shows I'm missing. I know Saratoga 8/5/00 was taped. It's floating around. If anybody has something from 2000 please get in touch with me. I want to set up a trade. Also on that other point about the Atz & Nedra albums. To Mike Connell. Since the albums are out of print. There won't be any royalties lost. Nobody can buy these albums anyway. Jewel's parents couldn't make any more money from those recordings. Unless those 2 albums were put back into production. Unless those 2 albums were put back into production. That's not the point. The point is they WERE in production and for sale legally. Yeah, they are "out of print", but so is the Raspberries Greatest Hits, Herb Alpert's "Whipped Cream And Other Delights" and Zager & Evans only album that came out in the late 60s. But make CDs or tapes of them and try to offer them on a list like this that Atlantic Records and the RIAA both monitor and you WILL get some legal mail and the list's existence will be in danger. (I know this for a fact from phone conversations with an RIAA rep) Mike :-) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Mar 2001 02:12:29 EST From: JewelKGirl@aol.com Subject: [EDA] MTV CRIBS I have never seen so many people obsessed with a simple TV show. - ---Allena ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Mar 2001 23:28:03 -0800 (PST) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Hotel=20Angel?= Subject: [EDA] NJC: Boys don't cry Hey angels, My first NJC post! :) Hay anyone seen the movie 'Boys Don't Cry'. Do you remember the song the three girls are singing in the karaoke (one of the girls is the 'girlfriend' of the starring woman). The song is also repeated at the end with the credits... Well, does anyone know what song is it? And by whom? I goes something along the lines of "blues eyes (or skies) in Texas..." Thanks, Mirko Get email at your own domain with Yahoo! I am from Australia, so I haven't even seen the MTV cribs show but already I am sick of hearing about it! Is it impossible for everyone to just enjoy a little insight into the life of Jewel without over analysing everything and ruining it for those that haven't seen it? I am all for healthy debating, it's just so depressing reading post after post of people giving crap to others and Jewel based on a small segment in a tv show - don't be so narrow minded. Oh dear, I think I may have started something.....pfft.... (1) If it's so "depressing" to read post after post of anything that bothers you to that extent, simply push that delete button when you see the subject line, (2) one of the purposes of created this list was to allow for people to reflect, comment, vent, discuss, argue and anything else that comes along with any portion - large or small - of the various marketing/advertising relations that have Jewel involved. Everyone should feel free to continue discussions, if that's what you wish. Whining about discussions seems quite an oxymoron when you're subscribed to a "discussion list." I see many topics posted that I am not interested in, but simply ignore them. It makes things a lot less complicated and intrusive. As for Cribs, I thought they failed to show some of the other beautiful parts of this house. Having been there on a few occasions, I feel they could have given more emphasis to the small details that Jewel put into the decorating of the house, rather than overview. However, I understand with the small time allotment, why they chose to segment as they did. I loved the rappers house. I thought it was really open, airy and nicely decorated. I didn't particularly care for the decorative women, but, to each his own, and again, that's his marketing schtick, so, that's ok. I absolutely loved Melissa Joan Harts house. I thought her tastes were eclectic, but functional. That's all for now, guys. Well, with this last one I've finally decided to say my 2 cents. If "brashboy" wants to make a comment like that on a mailing list for Jewel that he's obviously done it for 2 two reasons. One, because he likes Jewel and Second (which is probably the real motive), was to get a rise at of all of us who care to defend the integrity of the list and Jewel. No one would write something like that not expect controversy. I'm not going say that I think he should be reprimanded or that he's a jerk or whatever I'm just saying the less attention we pay to him or people like him, the happier we'll be and it'll probably bother them because we don't care to b**** and moan. I happen to REALLY LIKE JEWEL, OK? When I tune in to a program expecting to see her, then I see other people who I could give a **** about, is it so unreasonable to think I might lose my short temper? People here seem to lock in to certain words or ideas they obviously are not used to hearing and totally miss the point of my post! Do you think I enjoy getting bashed over the head from members who obviously are intolerant to differing views? Well I'm thick-skinned and can take it, but frankly your misplaced anger for me could be put to better use. The same people who claim to be so kind and thoughtful can't seem to get through an email without using harse words, putdowns, and psychoanalysis. Maybe you Freudians should start charging people on the list for your keen observations! Thanks all! It just seemed to me that you people pride yourselves on respecting Jewel as a person, and not making hasty judgements about her and what she does. I have read many a post that defends Jewel everytime someone does something of this nature.....and ultimately bashes the 'guilty' poster. It just got to me that those involved is this particular discussion were participating in the very same activity they so passionately opposed. Don't want to fight peoples, just expressing an opinion - you know how it goes - we all have them and this is mine. Take care, Casey (no official angel yet, don't know what the go is there!) _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Mar 2001 19:02:55 EST From: RachKat926@aol.com Subject: [EDA] NJC Locations I was just curious, since I haven't been on the list that long if anyone is from Kansas City, mainly the Overland Park area.
