Wild Horse 2. Parking Lot 3. Love Poem love ya, shawn the butterfly/hippie angel ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Jan 2001 16:40:24 -0600 From: "li'l waternymph" Subject: [EDA] favorite jewel poems 1. wild horse (still my favorite!) 2. tai pei #2 3. gold fish i just realized that i still never finished ANWA. my father didn't give me the book until last christmas and i had only the CD, which i would put on as i slept for a couple of weeks--always falling to dreams before it ended. so recently i have discovered poems i didn't read before. some are sweet, some remind me of the time in my life when i was realizing small truths. jewel poems: some of them are terrible, but all are honest. i miss that blatant voice of jewel's that seems to be lost now. she seems to have settled into a surer, more realistic voice which is of course bound to come and is right for her and the world. but i guess we don't want moderation in our role models. we want fire. luna http://www.geocities.com/luna_taylor ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Jan 2001 20:29:51 -0500 From: "Kerri" Subject: [EDA] Jewel's view on love I spent about 17 hours in my car this weekend, which gave me lots of time to listen to angelfood. I noticed that almost all of her "love" songs deal with a more negative view of love. Certain lines like "Love's always over too soon" from My Body is Changing and "Love always steps lightly away from the door" from Studies in Love #12 seem especially sad to me. What do you guys think? Are these her true feelings? Or is she putting herself in someone else's shoes? I'm one of those people who believes in love forever, even though I haven't seen too many examples in my life. - -Kerri "But don't wander too far, my one constant star. Darkness exists, except where you are. My feet are filled with wandering they follow your own. Everywhere you are feels like home..."
